Onto these drawings. I have actually seen extremely good 3D models of the Stargate ships, the detail is incredible and those ones really could be the equivilent of those used on Stargate. Are they even finished ?

As to the model, it is pretty good, i wouldnt say that it is the best daedalus model out there i can think of at least three other models which are as good or better but it is definitly a good try. There is a lack of detail but you could have a look at other people's models, such as RJB, and Maniac mike to get a good view of the details, i think RJB has the best deadalus model and then improve yours by example.

On the other hand if you want a basic modelling program to start with i recommend google sketchup, if you get it there are models on the warehouse of the deadalus, one in particular is very impressive...worth a look IMO.

The video I turned in was supposedly the best in my class. I saw other projects that were just as good as mine, made by guys who are more creative than me.

We have a few modelers including me, who model stargate ships on this forum who would probably help too. Feel free to ask and we will gladly help out. We usually hang out around the Original starship, or the Gate world fleet.

The best thing anyone can tell you, including your instructors is "use references, and a lot of them".

Now onto your ship.

Your scale is a little off. As the hangers should be a quarter of their length longer. Same for the top shell. Just stretch it out to the very end of the command bridge. It should be right on top of the back tip.

The wings shouldn't be as long as you have them right now.

You got all the windows down pretty good, and the scale is pretty good.

Since you turned it in already, you can leave it as is or keep going with the project to the end (IE texturing and lighting).

You haven't modeled a prome yet. I think you should. I think your model is better than caspers but he has better textures.
