        I think that the Ori shields just reflect the energy and when they fluculate they are in the process of reflecting it and what destroys the ship is the overload of the shield generator.
        So unfortually that means they can be upgraded.

            If the Ori shields absorb energy then I think the Asgard weapon is a high power one. My thinking is that the fluctuation is caused by the Ori ship's power distribution network. I think that there may be bottlenecks\chokepoints in the system. The Asgard weapon overloads the bottleneck and with multiple shots causes the power flowing back to the ship to slow to a crawl and perhaps stop for a moment. This prevents the shield from absorbing energy for a brief moment. With such a small window of opportunity to destoy the Ori ship, I would think that the Asgard designed their weapon to be very destructive (powerful).
