YES, prototype clearly shows they have great interest in furthering thier understanding of these things...i can imagine thje IC setting up a research base on the device's planet, it was never destroyed, im thinking at somepoint they will use this to make every soldier ATA gene'd, a more precise version of gene therapy.
Imagine what we could learn, we could complete anubis's work, heck if we must daniel could become the first Tauri prior or naturally acended being in a new Anti-prior/ mashur(ascended warriors) army.
i think this in the long term should be our goal, not to fight the ori conventionally but advanced to the point where our power in psychic and evolutionary terms equals them.

Somehow, I doubt Daniel would allow himself to be a guinae pig in such experiments. I'm not sure he'd ever do it, even if and when it became a proven technology. The main characters of Stargate are too rooted in who they are. Anyways, I was trying to invoke a discussion about what the long term reprecussions of such technology would be.

He is IMO the only human who could ever handle that power correctly, and if we had a vote i would choose him above anyone else to become the first human prior, more our Doci to the alterans. He has the knowledge, histroy and will to use a power that it an give in the right way.
So if you want to know what my long term goal for daniel is then look at my sig, He is our only real hope in defeating the ori, either by this or reascended to join the others in a plane war.

Mmm. I don't think so. He has no memory of being ascended exactly, but even so, I don't think he'd let himself be subject to experimentation that might not even work. Also, I don't think he's that fickle about it. He wants humanity to grow, but no recklessly, and he knows better than anyone that power can corrupt. (Remember the teaching-dream given to him by Shifu?) He'd probably be against artificially advancing humans. Or at least to a point. Also, if Earth DID figure out how to give people psychokinetic abilities they'd NEVER call them Priors or Doci. That lot is a specific group of the Ori, not just 'general terms' for advanced humans. Daniel is important, but not as an ascended being. Like I said Daniel knows better than anyone what power can do to people. More than that, he knows he is not beyond reproach in this regard. I think he values his humanity too much. Manipulationg memories was a big 'red flag' to him, just imagine what manipulating DNA would be to him? Just saying.

I don't think it's the powers per se, that he'd object too. I think it would be acting as a guinea pig he'd object too. Or anyone else for that matter. Of course, the government and the military would do it anyways, despite his protests. I do think he would want reasonably 'sane' people in the program, but really... How sane can you be to let yourself be used in an unproven experiment?

And don't forget the episode Absolute Power. The knowlege of the Goa'uld corupted Daniel to the point of killing his friends, commiting mass genocide and taking over the world

I've always thought that there is potential in the Wraith gene therapy (what the Wraith scientist did to Teyla's ancestors - see The Gift).

By combining even small amounts of Wraith DNA with humans', the scientist was giving the humans Wraith mental abilities. The subjects of his experiments were able to hear the Wraith communications.

Wraith can interrogate humans mentally (Rising, The Hive). And they can make you see things. Wouldn't it be cool to do that?

The Wraith scientist left all his notes behind. They are now in the posession of the SGA team. If anyone can do it Becket can ...

So I think its nearly unanomous that Daniel would volunteer for the genetic modification, yes? Plus the only reason he turned evil was because the Gou'ald memories kinda took control over him, the same way the Ancient information takes you over if you pop your head in one of the repositories.

THe potential for "psychological warfare" is immense, the human race cant reallty win a conventional fight with the ori, IMO they wil never have the technolgy on thier own grounds however our race is already on an evolutionary path to enlightenment and were going to get 'powers' eventually.
Our species has shown and has been proved to have the ability for a huge range of psychic abilities that we should exploit IMO in order to fight the ori, i know the Doci and priors are origin terms but they are reasonably accurate to describing daniel...
Doci is the leader of the priors, speading the word of origin and being in communion with the 'gods: Daniel is leader of the tauri against the ori, speading the Anti- origin, the truth, and has been ascended and has contacts through the tauri with no less than 7 ascended beings.

The potential for psychological warfare is also bull-you-know-what. There has never been a proven case of extra-sensory perception, most of the stuff that we believe are just creations of our minds (pun intended). As far as I know there is no significant evidence pointing towards any type of ESP.

Also you have had one experience of ESP, do you actually remember the psiball exercise we did last year? you felt the ball and told me what it felt like, thats your own experience of ESP and psionic as it called.

No, I remember, that, but that can be explained by science. In that whole process of channeling that energy through your body you are attempting to imagine that ball of energy between your hands. If you imagine hard enough you can trick your brain into feeling something that isn't actually there. Is that ESP, I don't think so, it is just the sense of touch, and manipulation of your brain into thinking your nerves are sending signals that they aren't. 19 senses? Really? As far as I have heard there are only five I am interested in the other fourteen though, would you care to explain? I postulate that a psi ball is just the manipulation of your brain, through imagination.
