I was looking about the official MGM STARGATE SG-1 website & came acorss their own webpage dedicated to saving STARGATE SG-1 (link : http://stargatesg1.com/savetheshow).

I encourage others to post comments about the show's cancellation on the official MGM website (follow the link above), sign as many petitions, write as many letters/postcards to Sci-Fi/MGM & join as many campaigns as possible to help spread the word about the cancellation of our favourite show & help get the support the show needs & deserves.
Hopefully, between all the 'Save STARGATE SG-1' campaigns (both MGM's one, the 'official' fan-based campaign [link: http://www.savestargatesg1.com/] & various other efforts world-wide) going on about the place; we can show Sci-Fi what a big mistake they made in cancelling (@ least what is, IMVHO) THE greatest sci-fi on earth & keep STARGATE SG-1 alive!

Ok I've just signed up. BlueCat of course. This site is really confusing! All I've been able to do so far is change my avatar. So what exactly are you supposed to do with this page? (Besides make it pretty ) Upload videos? Is that it? I don't have any vids but as someone else mentioned I'll probably just load a slideshow. I'd love to make a slideshow of my Bridge Studios pictures from the 2006 Van Con set tour but...alas...I signed a waiver not to post piccies of the set tours. Other than that, I don't really have any good stuff.

(Multichannel News) _ Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios relaunched the official Web site of Stargate SG-1(www.stargatesg1.com http://www.stargatesg1.com), adding social-networking and user-generated content aspects to back a series now in its 10 th and final season on Sci Fi Channel and airing in syndication around the globe.

The site, developed by DAVE.TV for MGM, includes a GatePlayer that lets users adopt a background or skin that mirrors the actual time gate in the series. Users also can stream content to blogs, social sites or personal Web sites.

Users can download podcasts, watch behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, upload personalized videos and develop personalized profiles with images and media from the show. Board games, shirts and other merchandise are also sold on the site, as are DVDs of past seasons.

MGM is exploring ways to continue the series, possibly by movies or miniseries on Sci Fi or, as fans are now urging, as newly released downloadable episodes.

VH1 executive vice president of original programming and production Michael Hirschorn said last week that he had been experimenting with the new Stargate site because of the portal and electronic-commerce features.

"To me, that is the more interesting story: Can a community site become ultimately self-sustaining and actually a profit center?" he said. If the show can somehow continue after its cancellation, the site, if successful, might be a reason why, he added.

Yeah, I started my webpages on Oct. 7th. I've done a lot of work with it, and still have a lot of work to go. I first found myself on the fifth page in the Community Profile (by popularity) section, and have since worked my way up to the first page! I currently have over 1100 views, and 4 1/2 stars rating on my main page. At the moment I have the main page called "Seastallion's Gateroom" and 5 other pages, all of which are ongoing works in progress. The 5 other pages are "Jack's Grill and Bar", "Sam Carter's Laboratory", "Dr. Daniel Jackson's Library", "Teal'c's Meditation Room", and "My Personal Page". The 4 character pages serve dual functions, as both homages to the members of SG-1, and topical pages serving specific functions. My Personal Page, is a few little things about myself. I've also done a few videos. 2 of them can be seen in Daniel's Library, and 1 can be seen in Teal'c's Meditation Room. I still plan to do others.
