SUPANOVA Pop Culture Expo blasts into its first ever Perth event in 2008.

It will feature special guests from films, TV shows, gaming, animation, comic-books, sci-fi, fantasy and more!

But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing. Between imminent actor’s strikes panicking US TV producers into changed filming schedules, new career opportunities and personal reasons the Supanova Expo has had to nearly re-create its line-up of stars with only the seminal Nichelle Nichols (“Uhura” from Star Trek and now “Nanna Dawson” in Heroes) surviving from amongst our media celebrities.

Joining her is the wonderful fan favourite, Jewel Staite, whose performance as “Kaylee” won the hearts of so many on Firefly and then Serenity before starring as “Dr. Jennifer Keller” on Stargate: Atlantis, and the beautiful Kandyse McClure, or “Lt. Anastasia Dualla” from the show many fans are critically acclaiming as the best ever TV sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica.

        Cool.

        From RDA’s website:

The rumor that he might appear at ComicCon in July is true, however. He will be a guest of MGM, and he expects to be at ComicCon for the preview of Continuum, which will be held aboard the USS Midway, and for a party being hosted by the Navy. Further details had not yet been set. He expects his appearance to be brief, although he joked that the person he most wants to meet there is Seth McFarlane of "Family Guy." "He's my new genius. That's a great show."
[However, if there is a SAG actor’s strike, any SAG member will not be allowed to promote at the con]

SG1 - TV Squad: Burn Notice

There's more news from Burn Notice on the casting front: Michael Shanks has been cast as Victor, another spy who was burned like Michael. Shanks, you may recall was Daniel on Stargate SG-1. Victor shows up in the second episode and will be on at least four episodes. When Jeffrey Donovan was asked to describe Victor, he told Ryan, "Victor is what Michael would be if Michael had rabies." Eww!

It's six of one, half dozen of another. For some fans, it's an expensive trip to San Diego, for some to Vancouver. Probably -- for most fans to both locales.

Hi. I haven't been at this board in awhile but I think that there is still a great deal of confusion about a comment that I made about how it seems unfair that tmz photographers randomly seem RDA and fans have to travel to conventions. I am beginning to wonder if people don't know that tmz is a website about celebrity gossip since people are still emailing me and posting things that make it seem like they believe tmz is a group of fans that goto comic con or creation run events in california. At no time was I talking about anything related to conventions. If you see my initial post regarding something being unfair you will notice that I was ONLY responding to the post someone made about tmz and was NOT at ANY TIME talking about conventions. I sincerely hope that this post will finally make it clear to people that if they read my post they will see it was ONLY about tmz and DID NOT mention conventions. I have received more emails than I can count from people that claim I was talking negatively about people that goto conventions in california and since the misconception occurred from reading this board I am hoping that everyone will realize that at no time did the post talking about how it seemed unfair that tmz sees rda imply anything about fans going to comic con or any other convention in california. As I believe that I have done everything possible to clear up any confusion that anyone has, I am not going to respond to any more emails or posts regarding this matter. Thank you to the person named Prion that tried to help me in clearing up the matter. Sadly the messages have continued.
