I haven't had the time for customs lately and I completely forgot to finish the staff weapon off. You can see that the jewel on the bottom hasn't been repainted in. I'll finish it up, take some proper pics soon and post the recipe if anyone wants it.
Rope climbing's the reason I got bronze instead of silver in the ParticipACTION programme.

      My first custom:

Closest I can get to normal Offworld gear Daniel for now.

Too light of a shade, but what are you gonna do?

        Okay,
I am part-way through making a mold for the three accurate P-90s that I have. I am also molding my Dragon 1/6 P-90, as they did the best 1/6 scale one out there and they are no longer available.
Just a general question for you all - is there interest in custom 1/6 SG-1 figures? That is how I started doing SG-1 customs. I have a bunch and was wondering about listing them on ebay, since I am finding the smaller figures more exciting and they require less shelf space.....LOL.
That is the other reason I am molding the Dragon P-90, because I do not want to give up the ones I have. totally accurate scale P-90s are hard to come by, so once you have one (or more), they are keepers.

Not interested in 1/6 figures, sorry. Is that 12", though?

Another failed paint job of the staff weapon:

A closer view shows the problem:

I couldn't find the right tone spray paint at WM, so I got a can of primer. I figured it would be the same thing as paint, not all gritty like this. Unless I did something wrong. I really don't know what I am doing here.

I guess it looks OK for a distance, though. It's not like I totally ruined it or anything.

Hey, so how did you make the 12" Stargate figures? What parts did you use?

I finally had a few minutes (and the initiative) to finish up my version of the staff weapons.

I noted from a couple of pics and episodes that the body of the staff weapon has a grey/brown metallic finish with a bluish patina. Norrin turned me on to the sophisticated finishes paints which have metallic pigments. So I used the blackened bronze and then used a blue & green paint mix for the patina edge highlights. The purple jewel was filled in with a red & blue mixture.

It might not be to everyone's taste but I'm quite satisfied with how they turned out.

                They look great.

Next step: Making them longer. I am not even going to attempt that one, but it would be a cool thing to do.

                  Hello all,

firstly nice work eveyone on the customs you have done - I have seen some amazing Vala resculpts and that Gold armour Apophis was incredible! Full marks on the Staff weapons, they are closer to the dark bronzed effect seen in the series. I have finally got around to getting my own figures out of their packs, and have headswapped Carter so she has no baseball hat on. To those of you who have had the "broken wrist" problem with Mitchell, let me know - I had this with he right wrist and there is a soliuition if you still have the parts!

In the long term I have two custom projects in mind. One is a possible basic diorama of the SGC gateroom, the other? - A figure that is TBA! These might take a while, so please be patient with me.

In the meantime, for those who are fellow Trek fans as well as Gaters, here are my Trek customs I did a few years ago.

Converting a human body into energy and sending it millions of light years through a wormhole. Bloody insanity!
Come on, how often do you get the chance to go to an alien planet?

I was a'ready on an alien planet!

Those playmates figures sure bring back memories. I remember admiring those a long time back. Interesting to put a face (or profile) with the customs.

I'm definitely looking forward to what you have in store.

Neither of my Mitchell's have hand their hands fall off, but I can tell that they want to do it. I don't dare trying to rotate the right hand.

I debated whether or not to post this one seeing as it didn't turn out the way I originally envisioned. It is essentially complete, mostly because I just don't want to think about it anymore. Feel free to make suggestions, but at the moment they will be filed away for the next version. Maybe if they do a Pres. Roslin it'll make a good base. Anyway, I give you Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter in dress blues.

At worst, it was a good learning experience. Thanks go out to Astra for supplying the idea, though it was originally supposed to be Jack. Next custom... something really, really simple.

Looks good, the only thing I would add is the hat.

Let's pretend she's indoors and wouldn't be wearing the cap . I originally planned to have a flattened flight cap in Sam's hand before I realized by regulations that's not where she'd have it if it weren't on her head. Anways, bottom line, there's no service or flight cap to be seen. Although I don't remember Sam ever wearing the service cap, only the flight cap. Maybe somebody else knows.

I think I am mis-remembering. When we first saw her, I think she didn't have any hat on.

I see you were busy! Well, it looks nice to me, but I'm no expert of course. I only think that maybe the buttons are too big, but that's all. Are they really that way?

Are there any before - after pictures to compare? I'd like to see what you added. The collar most certainly?
