She left the lab with the tray in her hands, letting the safe lock of the room do the job of closing it for her. She took the stairs to get there faster without having to wait for elevator. It was just two floors anyway. When she entered the Mirror Room, she saw her football team of alters talking to SG-8. She overheard some of it as she got close. Her lab coat floating in the air due to her fast pacing, let them see the simple clothing she was wearing underneath it: a pair of light blue pants and blouse and simple closed black leather boots.

"That would be me actually. Dr. Natasha Bystronski, base chief scientist." She answered to Harvey in a good mood, poiting at herself with her left hand and holding the tray with her right one. She liked to meet with alters, they always brought her interesting technical challenges to solve. "And these are the gadgets you were waiting on." She replied, raising the tray she was carrying slightly.



"Now on to your question." Natasha said looking at Ashwood's position. "Actually that won't matter once you wear these devices at all times for as long as you stay in this reality." She said again raising the tray slightly. "They're called LGR and they'll basically create a DNA mask that won't allow this universe to be aware of your presence, eliminating the problem of ECF...Entropic Cascade Failure. So nothing to worry about." She said smiling to reassure the newcomers that everything was OK. "So each one of you can come here and take one. The device will do it's work once activated and for that all you have to do is press it against your skin, anywhere you feel comfortable. I assure you that it stings at placing but there'll be no more disconfort to you after that. Remember if you take the device off for any reason, you'll only have 24 hours to leave this reality before suffering the effects of ECF. So don't loose them." She said in a professional tone. "Also because we'd like to have them back." She added joking.

Each one of the alters came in her direction to take their LGR devices. When the group dispersed a little more because of this action, Natasha noticed someone among them and sighed deeply, trying to continue to be professional and leave her feelings aside. After all, they were alters and they were all going to leave as soon as their business here was over.

Once they all had their devices attached to the place of their choosing, she spoke again in the same professional tone, holding the tray now empty pressed against her belly. "So if you have any technical questions, you can ask me. If it's more general, you can ask Sharp, our Sharp I mean. Will go meet him as soon as a new team arrives to relieve SG-8 in guarding the Mirror Room to escort us. Standard procedure. You can stand down now. They're not our twins from the evil universe. It's OK." She said the last sentences to Pratt.

While she waited for the reply, she half listened to what Dr. Bystronski was saying. Override the DNA. Did that mean that she was alive here too. If she was, surely someone would have recongized her by now.

Picking up the tiny device, she sighed. Wasn't her this self in military or a cilivan even? Shrugging of the nagging doubt, Claire also picked one up of Whitely, "This one is for," she pointed at Sarah, "Lieutentant Whitely." she smiled at the woman.

Mirror Room

"Amazing," she exclaimed, admiring the device before placing it on her wrist, the device itsself was soo small, she wondered how it mask the DNA, "Were these found or made?" she asked.

"Made actually. It's a long story better left for later though." Natasha answered Ashwood the simple, short answer. If the Major asked more, she'd think about telling her more.

[Our Sharp= Mirror room]

Sharp nodded at what Natasha was saying.

"So basically you could bring inanimate objects too and fro with no objections.. its just." Sharp nearly smacked himself on the forehead. "Aaaaand thats how were getting a new DHD." He paused. "Thats amazing.."

"New DHD? Is that what you came for?" Natasha asked a little bit unbelieving and it was clear in her tone of voice. She was expecting a challenge and they came for a DHD. That was the greatest disappointment she had had with an alter in a while.

Mirror Room

Not after long, a Dr Natasha Bytronski entered the room. Issac did'nt recognized her from the Original base, but then again, he never really got the chance to meet everyone at the base. She gave everyone a bright "hello" and "welcome" sort of attitude, however seemed to ignore Issac after one look. After "trying" to chase women around in his adolescents, he got a sort of hint that something was up. Natasha then spoke of these gadgets that would make the team resistant to the "EFC's" effect. Issac took onboard the basic understanding of what the devices are for. Issac was plagued by his thoughts on the AU world. "Just how many Mirror vistiors do they get? it seems routine for them to give these gagets out..."

After Sharp and a few others steped up and chose places for the device, Issac stumbled up slowly, and seemed that Natasha wouldn't look the Captain in the eyes or make eye contact. "Can i have it on the back of my hand please?" Captain Matthews asked with a courteous voice, rasing the back if his right hand to the good Doctor. With a small prick feeling into his hand, the device went on smoothly. "Thank you Natasha" he said with a warm smile included.

Natasha froze when Isaac started to come towards her for his LGR, but she knew that had to happen. She listened to his request to place his LGR on the back of his hand and she did so trying to touch him as less as she could and plastering (sp?) an obvious fake smile on her face. She could feel he was already on to something. "You're welcome." She replied coldly, trying desperatly to remain emotionally unattached, trying to cope with the situation internally. 'I don't believe this is happening to me again. I hate you! Alter you is even trying to flirt with me...again. Well, he's not you, I have to remember that. What did I do to deserve this?' She thought as the memories hurried through her mind and the pain filled her heart once more.

It made her feel better after what had just happened with alter Isaac and forget about the wounds that having the multiverse on your backdoor can open. 'They seem so inocent. I wish I could stop thinking again. Just be me and enjoy myself like they seem to be doing.' She thought watching the two lieutenants bicker (sp?) with each other.

Claire looked at Natasha, then the device, she wanted to ask her a question, but wasn't sure how to apporch it. Biting her lip, she took a deep breath and asked anyway.

"I was wondering..if....uh..." she stammered, "my self in this reality, is...uh...alive? I know it a dumb question, but I'm only aking due to..." she held up the device that was in her hand. "I'm Lieutentant Davis," she held out her other hand.

Looking at Natasha, Kim's jaw's dropped, "Made?" she said, in full awe. "That's well...amazing," she grinned.

Claire looked at Natasha, then the device, she wanted to ask her a question, but wasn't sure how to apporch it. Biting her lip, she took a deep breath and asked anyway.

Giving the hand a slight shake, Claire's eyes widened. She was dead here, no wonder no one reconginzed her. "Oh," she said softly, not being bortherd by the traces of bitterness in Natasha's voice, "Thanks."

If she was dead, so that meant so was her father. Sighing, she smiled at Natasha, "Will return them soon," she said refering to the device as she placed on her arm.

"Nice," she nodded at Natasha, looking at Daivs's reaction to Natasha's reply, Kim, felt for her, warpping her arms around the lieutentant, Ashwood, nodded a thanks to Bystronski, before guiding Claire towards Whitely, talking to her softly.

Natasha watched Ashwood and Davis go to Whitely's position and followed. "I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to upset you." She said throwing the tray over a nearby table and putting a hand over Davis shoulder, feeling heartbroken now which certainly wasn't helping Lt. Davis at all, but she couldn't avoid feeling that way. She was used to alters saying that she was non existent, dead and even ascended once, but others may not be. She had to make an effort to remember that sometimes. "By the way, do I exist in your universe?" She asked curious, trying to lighten the overall mood.

"Oh my god," She exclaimed as the shock sink in, "He...He..." was all she could manage, before a train of tears rolled in. Looking at her best friend and team mate, Claire wanted to be assured that this wasn't a dream. When Whitely smiled and gave a squeeze, Claire knew this was all real, then let out the tears that were held for far too long.

She had missed him like h3ll, as to he was all she had back one Earth. But here, he was alive, to her that all that mattered. As her grief tired to take over, she felt another friendly arm taking her for comfort, looking through her tears, Claire could make out Zack's face, burying herself in his chest, she sought the comfort that she longed for and only he could give.

Ashwood


Seeing that Davis was in a shock and the state of her, she aswered the spoken question. "Yes, as Davis said your a Captain in our reality on SG-8."

She herself had no clue as how to help Daivs, due the fact she was still getting over the news that Pratt had given earlier. Knowing that shew was likely to be dead, Kim knew she would have to get use to that, like Claire, she wasn't upset at begin dead, but knowing the ones you loved are dead, that was hard to get used to.

Snapping out her trace, she noticed that Zack was comforting her, sharing a knowing look with Whitely, Kim smiled. It was about time that these two got together, if ever.


((It's okay to tell her, she will find out sooner or later anyway, just don't say anything about Micheal, yet . Yea, we're aware of Natasha, but haven't had a chat with her yet . Sorry to post soo late, my net is giving me a headache, by begin too slow and stubborn ))

Kym took one of the DNA maskers and bounced it up and down in her hand. Someplace where it won't get knocked off, eh? Pulling out the neck of her tee-shirt, the woman stuck it high on her chest. "That should work, right?"
Getting reassurance, she then wandered over to Simms and McCoy.
"Had a wild party last night, huh? Sorry I missed it."
"It was a wake," Elaine answered flatly.
Kym felt her face flush in embarrassment at her faux pas. "I'm sorry. Who died?"

After the passing out of the LGR, Major Ezekiel walked in with SG6. "Major Pratt, sorry for the delay in getting down here to relieve you. My team and I are running a little late this morning." He looked around at the 12 extra people, he recognized some of them, but a few he did not. "I see we have more visitor from."

He look through all the faces again trying to figure out which ones would meet there doubles here and which ones wouldn't I wonder why so many of them came, most of the time it is only a few I don't remeber it ever being more than 5 or 6. I can't ever recall 12 ever coming through, he thought to himself.

He glanced over at Natasha and than saw Matthews, he could tell she was slightly uncomfortable, but knew Rachael was always there for her friend. He look around the room, Where is Rachael she is always here to meet the alters.

Vincent stayed back, keeping one hand on his gun, they were outnumbered should anything happen, not that he thought would. But it always paid to be cautious, or so Ikio had taught him. That was before he died in the attack,

Claire smiled, "No, Ma'am," she shook her head, "But this place actually looks well maintained." she was impressed. So far all she had seen made her wow, espically the carvings that required translation, if they needcd to be translated.

This place was heaven for lingusits. She grinned. Goodie.



Glancing over to Sarah still with a grin in place, she shook her head, "Nope, but somehow I get the feeling that I might meet someone I know or in this case knew." she shrugged. "More exploring," she wiggled her eyebrows.

The news of Earth begining destroyed borthed her, but she wasn't going to be showing it, or getting her hopes up for her father to be alive. She needed a clear mind for this mission, she wasn't going to be side tracked.

"What about you?" she asked.

Sarah shrugged, "Not as far as I know, but I guess there's always a chance..."

*Claire finding out about her dad*

Sarah squeezed Claire's shoulder and smiled at her, but this wasn't enough. Claire turned to Zach and Sarah could only watch on worriedly, hoping for Claire to be fine.

Accepting the LGR Sarah attached it to her wrist. Then she turned to Natasha and asked,
"Am I dead too?" Even though Sarah thought she knew the answer was no, she wanted to know to be sure.

Donna turned round as the device was offered to them. She had been looking around the place not to bothered with the little reunions that were going on. Picking up one of the devices she looked at it in detail, looking at what seemed to be the underside of the device. She listened closely to the explanation of how the thing works and ran it over in her head a few more times. It makes sense... I think. Noticing the others had already placed the deviced. One last look at the device she pulled up her sleeve and placed it on the underside of her arm. Twisting her arm a few times she pulled the sleeve back down. Resting her arms on top of her p90 she looked around again. Wonder if am alive here and what am up to. She thought of the number of different possibilities.
