I didn't either until like two weeks ago when I happened to run across them.

Right now you can get them in two hard cover editions that collect the first 12 or so issues rather than having to buy them individually. They are supposed to come out in paper back editions later this year.

I doubt they are anywhere near as good as the show, but I wanted to read them for the story to see where Joss takes the characters.

I really wish they could have made that into a show....

I liked 1st season Angel the best. My problem with Buffy was ... Buffy. That character annoyed me too much to watch the show much.

Yeah, she could be whinny and annoying. I didn't so much as watch the show for her as I did the story. Plus you had all the other characters thankfully.
