The TARDIS has a problem in this tournament: It can do great things and is well known, but its appearance is uninspiring. It's being voted off because it's not much to look at, because the new series doesn't do it justice, and because several people are trying to preserve their favorite TV shows, not the "greatest [ship] in sci-fi and fantasy". I haven't figured just where to place it in the remaining ships myself but I have a few more to go before I *must* decide.Wordsmit2

An early advocacy speech for Serenity
Serenity is a unique ship in science fiction. It is lived in, customized by its users, no guns, no shields, with the homey-est galley in the verse. It is a cargo ship, a place of commerce, defense and protection. Because it's often losing parts and running on fumes, it creates a sense of danger which tends to bind people together and makes them depend on one another. When its flower child engineer sets its engine for a "burn" the ship glows like... a firefly. Maybe its not the "greatest," but it's certainly among the most unique. It is the soul sister of Hans Solo's ship, but for an even rougher time, out on the edge, on the ridge. "You can't take the sky from me" goes the song. And serenity will be remembered, even after the land is burned and the sea is boiled.....Comment
