Image rotators are perfectly fine, but I don't think they'll work for avatars, since the forum requires that you upload a static image -- it doesn't have a spot for code, like sigs do.

The way to do a rotating av (of a sort) would be to create an animated GIF.

animated or still images, they still have to fit within the size guidelines

Can you PLEASE drop the " not publishing until a moderator verifies it" ? Because of that my posts are always too late and i've messed up 3 threads because of it. You can use instead a punishment system like : 1 mistake- warning, 2 mistakes 1 hour ban or whatever do you need to keep this forum healthy.

This is not a *punishment* for you or any other new member. Due to inordinate amount of spamming that goes on for most Forums we have implemented this action to curb it as much as possible.

The only threads I can think of that you would be having an issue with would be a *Game Thread* and we do suggest that new members on Probie Status wait until they have cleared that status befor joining into a game.

I invited a fellow scifi online friend to visit this wonderful site only to find they couldn't open anything because they got a 'no guest browsing message' Not the greatest first impression. I hope it's temporary.

Well we will have to ask Darren or Greg if the *Guest Feature* has been temp. shut off for select reasons. I know we have had to do it in the past due to server overloads and during some of the other server maintenance.

Greg may have been tinkering at that moment. Our general policy is that Guests and lurkers are always welcome.
