You can't add a avatar until the end of the probie status , also until then all your post must be approved by a mod .

Yes.

Just create your thread so it goes to the "queue" and it will get checked out and approved as soon as Moddily possible.

We tend to merge threads that are too similar in nature ,or move them if necessary,but leave redirects to click on to get to the new location.

eg, if a thread's been submitted to SG1 General Discussion ,but needs to be in SG-1 Merchandise the mod will leave a redirect link.

Well, I sent out a few thread replies, and only one of them actually made it to the forums. Until I bumped into this thread, I didn't quiet understand what was happening. As a result of slow moderator responses in approving my post (compared to my eagerness to participate), I have decided to hold off my overall participation. Even though I 100% agree and understand the 'Probie' ranking concept, I am a little discouraged from not being able to participate in real time.

Some of you people have some great personal insights into the "Stargate" world, but I am a little saddened that I cannot join in with the conversations in real time. If I see the few posts appear in the forums, I will come back and leave another three or four.

Ah, reading this thread I now see why I couldn't do anything like getting an avatar and such on the control panel/profil. I thought I had done something wrong or the account hadn't validated the first time I clicked the mail-link The warning doesn't say anything that made me realise it was because I was 'probie'.

I understand, but it's a bit annoying not to be able to join conversations real-time, as Dr. Carter says.

I totally sympathize guys. It's not something we wanted to do. but anyone that was here for the porn spam attack last year can tell you why we did this.

I remember a few years ago when you had to shut the forum down because so many spam threads were being created you couldn't keep up with it.

I think that was the 1st impetus for the probie status.
