You can imagine the arguments I had with my provider . They said my connection is fine I said no. I told them to check and double check because some sites were not working. When this site works, it loads pretty fast. Today, as I said, it reminded me of dial-up

could this be a side effect of the DNS fiasco that happened when Pakistan blocked YouTube and the faked address was propagated along the internet?

From my observations over the last 48-72 hours, there have been no issues with Gateworld's IP Transit or server - the problems originate from other places - so sorry guys - Gateworld hasn't been running slow, but, the Internet has been running slow.

Since the cable thing under the ocean internet problems arise more often . You cannot blame us for asking Greg . I mean I test my connection and I have 16 megs, download from Microsoft with 16 megs again, and when I traceroute to gw I get timed out and huge ping . Obviously I am blaming the board .

Feel free to post the ping/traceroute here so we can see it and yell at the company responsible.

It was working okay this morning, but its gone slow again. Its around 3pm here in the uk at the time of writing this.

I dont use my isps dns servers either, i use open dns for my internet needs. Is anyone else using them, and having the same problems?

Hey slow speeds = alot of people visiting which is good in a way

I've just tried to connect to the IP you posted from, and there's definatelly issues in the UK with Above.net - it's not GW or GW's provider's problem.

Maybe you should contact your ISP and complain of slow speeds to this site.
