Had a busy day. three weeks ago my mom had a bicycle accident and ended up in the hospital. So the night of the 26th was spent in the ER and waiting for her to come out of the OR, then visiting her in the ICU and hten her room, then she was sent to a rehab hospital and she'll be released monday to come home. So the past couple of weeks have been very busy and stressful. Taking care of the house and bills, visiting her adn taking care of things there and all that....at least I'm lucky enough to have plenty of sick leave and my boss has been very accommodating about me taking time off (i was taking a long weekend memorial day weekend anyway to burn extra leave before I hit the 'use it or lose it' stage).
this week will be getting her settled and I'll stay home with her a bit to make sure she's okay. things still wont' be normal because It'll likely be weeks before she'll be allowed to drive.
The morale of the story....WEAR A BIKE HELMET.
If she'd have been wearing one she maybe would have gotten off with a concussion and broken collar bone instead of a sub-dural hematoma and a crainotomy (cutting the skull open)Comment
