If this isn't an ad based problem ,take a look at your Screen Resolution settings.Have you needed to show "Portrait" instead of "Landscape" view on forums or for other reasons?

( I used to have this happen years ago when we used art programs for my daughter's college courses.)

ETA : Also even when ADP ( Adblock Plus)/Flashblock are in use ,the ads still load but don't show up.

That can misalign the forum /other sites too if the coding isn't correct.

There is a series of ads running now that make a noise when you roll over them. It also has a countdown to expand but so far has not expanded without unwillingly for me. But one of them is a Ford ad so I don't know if this is the ad that's causing other people problems.

The sound is not that loud more annoying but I thought you didn't allow any sound.

I still notice that happening, so I manually shrink the forum page window to eliminate the blue space on each side of the forum page. I've noticed that the GW header isn't stickied causing the misplacement of the page.

Q -Can you check your Internet Properties on your comp?

Privacy Settings and Pop Up controls.JPG

Check the settings then click "OK" and see if that helps.Ideally NO pop-ups should be getting through,so if it happens again,I'll mail Darren with the link to your post.

Look for icons for things like Recycle Bin ,Control Panel,Disk Clean up,etc. One should look like this :
That's the one I capped in the Ad thread.
I found it and the pop-up blocker is on. I also increased the level of security to medium high. And still I am getting the pop-up in GW. Got it again this morning. Didn't get a screen cap though. I will next time.

Sounds very much like you have a malware - get Malwarebytes and run it!

Moved these past few posts over from Ask the Mods because this is the right thread...and because splitting the flow won't help Darren.

I'd rec the free Malwarebytes prog as well : LINK

Malware can creep in via umpteen sources not just via ads, just so y'all know.Every time we visit a site ,dl a vid or open an e-mail there's a risk so it can be very hard to source.

I already have several malware programs that should catch stuff like that. Do I really need another?

Apparently one more, at least. The issue you're having (since you're getting it on site that aren't GW and because it's slipping past a popup blocker) just oozes malware.

Malwarebytes doesn't run continually, it just runs a scan when asked. It's one of the best ones out there - very reliable, free, small, and easy on the computer's resources.

Malwarebytes program is not about catching viruses but it is terrific at cleaning them up.

I run it every couple weeks just to make sure I don't have anything on my system before it starts to reek havoc.
If you don't have any problems it only takes about 10 min to go thru your system for the quck check.

If you have a virus, it can take much longer depending on the problems it finds.

This just started today and I thought it was just the PC at work, but when I hopped on my laptop just now this FORD ad did this again...

It says "Roll Over for More" but if my mouse goes near the banner, it launches
