Problems with a GateWorld Ad? - Provide Ad DETAILS

Okay, I've waited four days. All ads that ever show up at the top of this pages are these:


(And the iTunes ad is pretty stupid. If google is generating these ads based on my location (I think so because of the German ad), they should know that iTunes doesn't work that way in Germany).

I don't know whether I have some ad blocker that I know nothing about or what. But I'd really like to see a screenshot of this supposedly annoying ad to form an opinion. (If you don't want to post an image of that here, feel free to PM me. I'd appreciate it. )

I think we can't get it. It's probably a US only ad. I just get the same ads as you do...

I only get the google ads, and the occasional static banner ad, thank goodness. I think Anubis is right, we're in Europe and are thus spared the most intrusive advertising.

Is anyone else having problems with the Eragon Video Game add?
On my screen it always seems to reserve the space that it would fill when expanded with a white area, so none of the controls etc at the top of the page are usable. It also makes the pages that it is on respond slower than usual.

I keep getting the tradingpost.com.au ad and it loads first then the rest of the page takes around 30 seconds. I'm on ADSL2, which is the fastest connection here in Aus. It should take about 5 seconds for the whole page to load. Ditch the trading post if only on the grounds that they accept ads from backyard breeders and puppymills.

I've added tradingpost.com.au to our Google ad filter.

If you spot the flashing Will Smith (or any other such grody) ads again, please try and determine: 1) whether it is a Google Adsense ad (often marked, but not always), and 2) the destination URL (this can be pulled out of the hyperlink without clicking on the ad itself. If it's Google-served, we can filter it easily.

I'm very surprised by the Altered Ad, it shows a guy pulling something gross from a human stomach and also has the F word a couple of times. I think it's a bit much as i guess plenty if children access this site.

We've gotten a few crappy ads lately that I don't like -- trying to figure out if they are coming from Google or Gorilla Nation.

If you see one you think doesn't belong here (gore and the F word definitely fall into that category), please provide as much info as possible -- a screen cap is very helpful. Mouse over the ad and look for the domain name(s) in the hyperlink. If they are Google, we can easily filter them.

i have a partinal control program in my pc and i have it set to block ads that may contain spyware

and lately i've been seeing this not sure if this helps seeing the address might help

I don't know how Darren feels about it, but personally, I think it belongs on a porn site or in the National Enquirer. LOL However, ads like those won't stop me from coming here....I just ignore them.
