I've tried a dozen pictures, different sizes, put <img> (and then</img> at end )in front of "http" then in front of "www", then in front of "url", whatever I try, when I try to save it on Gateworld, it says "invalid file". I have the pics on photo bucket, I resized them several times, but nothing I do works. Help!!!

I've tried all the HTML & IMG choices on Photobucket starting with the recommended and then all the others. What am I doing wrong?
The easy way is to use the little box at the top of the text box looks like a mountain:

use the URL tag and copy paste it into the space (box) you get when you click on the mountain:

Sigs can be tricky at first I tried for days to get mine to work properly when I first joined: EVERYONE! said oh but it is so simple! Yeah well if you are new to Forums it is not!

Hope that helps: If not just come back and ask for help till you get it right.

All you need to do is display the picture and then members can right click and save as if they wish top
To include an image in your post then simply use the [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] (without spaces) tags and put the addresss to the images inside.

          For example

          [ IMG ] http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dalek030ae.jpg [ /IMG ]

          Hope it helps

that's as long as you have the image hosted somewhere that doesn't mind linking. Otherwise you'd have to make it as an attachment.

Can anyone do attachments and which is better?
I use my iDisk, which is a service I pay through Apple, to store the images but a lot of things, like simple icons that I like but don't love and have no real intention of keeping, I don't want to put on my iDisk because I don't want to take up the space, though I have 100MB of space to take up, and I really don't want to subscribe/sigh up with that Photobucket thing.

How does an attachment work and can anyone do it???

              Thanks,
              Adrianne

I know this was covered previously in this thread but ...

Does anyone know how to Screen cap on a Macintosh? I'm running MacOSX. The DVD player won't allow you to take a Screen cap of the screen while the DVD player is loaded and I can't seem to get the DVD to play in any other player program ...

                Help?

                Thank you,
                Adrianne

Can you not download BS Player? It's really simple to use. To screen cap you just press p.
                  Yepp, it's blank down here.

When you post, go to the "Additional Options" section. Click on "Manage Attachments." Either select "Upload from your computer" to upload a pic from your computer, or select "Upload from URL" and enter the web URL. Note the supported file type and max file sizes.

but then, how do you actually attach the file?

what do you mean? If you follow the process above, you will end up with a little thingy in your post that shows thumbnails of the pics "you attached." Really, i don't know what advantage there is to attaching files here at GW, especially since the only files you can attach are images. On other forums, it's possible to attach whole files (like if you wanted to share a file with another member, you would send a PM and attach the file in the pm for the other member to download) to share with other members. However, a lot of admins restrict the file attachment feature because of the wantan chaos that can be had by such file sharing.

There should be an attachment to this one.

Try adding a thread you like, or are subscribed to, onto your "Bookmarks". Sometimes that works for me.
