I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I have no idea where else I should go...so...I have a question!

Can someone please help me with why I can't use smilies or change my text fonts and colour etc when I try to make a post? I also can't multi quote and I have no idea why!! Could it just be my computer or could I have done something without knowing like switch something off...I baffled! I have all my smilies when I use msn and yim...but here in GW I can't do anything....please...can someone help me???

what do you have the Message Editor Interface set too??/
if you have basic then you can't edit colors ect.

go under options and scroll down to see what it set to. set it to standard and you should be able to to edi again .

as for multi- quote not sure why thats bugging up

you can also do it the hard way.

But that would get tedious if you have to do it for EVERYTHING, especially quotes/multiquote. Definitely sounds like something has been disabled, though. Tell your daughter to fix it.

I could do it the hard wya but then I would need to know the name of the fonts etc and I'm not that good!!
As for asking my daughter...done that already...she has no idea either...I couldn't even access my msn for a few days but that's ok now so I have no idea what's going on...maybe I should just beg hubby for a new computer...like that's gonna happen!!!

I checked all that...that's ok...no issues there...I just get the feeling that I may have done something...knocked a wrong key or erased something I shouldn't have...I just wish I knew how to fix it...and it's only here that I have a problem...arghhh...not to worry...I might have to get someone in to fix it...thanks everyone for you help...it is greatly appreciated!

Anyone know if uninstalling and reinstalling IE would do any good, or would it just carry over whatever "don't let chelle use scripts" command is hidden in there now?

it may. but i would advise looking for an update for the version you are using before going to that.

Yuck. I hate the newest version of IE. That last grand update of theirs? Totally fraks up the toolbar, buttons, and everything else. I refuse to update my home comps to it, though I usually prefer Firefox anyway.

Well...I'm thinking there's a conspiracy here...maybe no one likes my colourful posts!!!???...just joking...I think I'll try getting firefox but I just can't figure out how come it worked one day then not the next...and i've run a virus check twice and deleted the latest java update...coz it all started after I updated...but I still can't do anything which is a pain coz I can't link or download pics...all I can do is what I'm doing now...but really...thanks for the advice everyone...I'll work it out...what I need is Sam Carter's wonderful brains to help me...anyone got her number??? You know I believe in not futzing with things that aren't broken which is why i usually hesitate to update anything coz if you're on a good thing then stick with it. My dad has firefox and swears by it so maybe I'll give that a shot and see how it goes...if all else fails....I don't know what I'll do...maybe put a naquada reactor under the belly of the puter and let it go critical...that oughta fix her!!!

Yea i agree the new IE is absolute rubbish. i prefer the broswer i got with the broadband software. its easy to use and simple.

Give firefox a try. You won't look back. It's faster and more stable than anything M$ ever released.
