Avatar : None imposed on anyone ,but several members created some for the use of any members on custom avatar status who'd like to use them.
( Look back through this thread to see the ones sgc,SabreBlade and others posted .They're cool !)

If you haven't reached custom avatar level : feel free to use the avs as part of your sigs or use them as Profile pics.

Sometimes when the overload's been too high ,Greg 's had to disable the Who's Online list ,but months ago,he simply restricted it to just the logged in and visible members.

So..nothing to do with the lags and glitches.

the mods and I can only change rep comments and user titles. avatar and site colors is Darren and Greg and they're not involved in this monthly thing

if people want to make avatars for others to use, please do so, however people need to manually change their own avatars

I am not sure if i reported this but the page takes a millennium to load , and when it's fully loaded it just goes to " page not loaded " . I tried using a proxy and it works just fine , but it's a strange problem .

I'm using IE 9 release version. I've noticed it ever since I have been using IE 9 (which is ever since it started working with GW).

Sorry about the lagging everyone,but the lagging ,quirks and other glitches are largely Browser,ISP,or Template -related .
Members have been reporting slow ads and lags from image-hosting sites as well.

Till Greg and Darren can get in again,there's little advice we can give on top of the tips offered on previous pages .

Try this : clear cache,cookies and browser,and reboot,then disable sigs and images in posts via your personal control panel.

If an ad or ad site is causing problems,take a note of the ad details,preferably a screencap ,and post that in this thread Problems with a GateWorld Ad? Provide Ad DETAILS so that Darren can see any commonalities.

If a particular ad is found to be the culprit,he can tell the adhosts to remove it from the rotation.

Glitch noted ,Awinita.It seems to be yet another one that keeps being reported by IE users .

vBB set Firefox as their optimum browser years ago ,and seems slow to add compatibilities with all the other Browsers into it's software .

Darren can't add compatibility where no software exists.

I recommend using Google's Chrome browser if you want an alternative to IE but don't want to use Mozilla's Firefox. There are tons of browsers out there, you really have a great selection these days. IE used to be horrible with images (among other things), don't know if it still is... and actually that I'd like to know - without it touching my hard drive!

Browser options and consumer choice are expanding all the time,but that's a decision that everyone has to make for themselves.

Would be a cool topic for discussion elsewhere ,but let's keep this thread for it's main purpose now.

Ask the Moderators a forum related question -get a reply from a/the Moderator(s) .

The more talk and chat about other issues ,the more it's likely that Darren and Greg will miss seeing clues that'll enable them to get the fixes done.

Given the several ongoing issues,none of us want that to happen.
