Exactly, it's not hypocrisy - he actually did it and knows from personal experience that revenge doesn't change anything. I also sympathised with his speech, if there's anyone who knows about loss it's Rush. First his wife died a slow painful death from cancer, then his girlfriend was senselessly murdered.

Bingo. Rush was on the ball, trying to get Eli out of his funk in his own way.

There has only been one instance of SG Personnel being stranded in a different galaxy (not counting Atlantis of course) and that was after an exploding sun cause a massive distance-jump in a hyperspace window.
