I think that was a reference to the original Stargate movie. Daniel Jackson offering food to Kasuf, as opposed to Scott offering food to Booger. Kasuf loved it, the alien hated it and spat it out.

What did they expect though? After all, we've already seen that aliens eat different types of food than humans do. For example... Thor likes the yellow ones.
