Life changing experience for Chloe?

I'm wondering about her position as "Wray" - as in, the civilian go between should something ever happen to Wray. It's clear that Young doesn't trust Wray, but I believe he has far more faith in Chloe. Just as Young goes to Eli because he doesn't trust Rush, is Young having Chloe fill that same position? As far as diplomacy goes, Chloe is far more suited.

She still needs something which she can do to feel useful, not be the marriage counselor to the Young/Rush/Wray threesome. The writers have to cook something up which she can do on a regular basis, and then as needed she can play mediator.

She gets up every morning, gets ready to face the day and waits for some issue to come up for which she can serve as an intermediary? That would get old kinda' quickly.

Originally posted by Gollumpus View PostChloe has been trying... to do her share. However, she has the least amount of useful skills of anyone on board Destiny. She wants to help. She wants to pull her own weight. I don't get folks who say she's useless or doesn't otherwise contribute.
She has asked to be put to work doing something, anything, but other than some manual labor (eg. picking fruit in "Time") and being the default body-swap person, no one has come forward and said, "Here's something you can do every day which will be of benefit to the running of the ship."
Can anyone suggest some sort of work for Chloe? There's a good fifty or so "no name" scientists, techs and soldiers who don't appear to do much of anything, although they are supposedly doing something related to their chosen fields. Should Chloe be put to work doing something one of these people could do, only not as well as they?
Someone will have to find a use for Chloe. She is not Neelix. She should not have to go around creating jobs for herself in order to stay on board. Perhaps, once they gain control of Destiny's systems she can get a job like this character: http://l.yimg.com/eb/ymv/us/img/hv/p..._weaver/gq.jpg

So far, compared to everyone else, she hasn't been pulling her weight. The tvtropes entry for SGU currently has her listed as "The Load" for a reason.
Well, part of the issue is that it's tough to show 50+ people on a TV show doing something. With the scientists, you can pretty much assume they are studying and repairing the ship. The military is protecting it, and handling the dangerous stuff. Some people are pulling double-duty like with the hydroponics lab. Other than Senator Armstrong, Chloe, and Eli, everyone at Icarus had a specialty or a job (like Becker in the mess), so they can be assumed to be doing something. But since Chloe is a main character, she gets more heat.
Barmaid? Cleaner? I'm only partially joking, but people have suggested a ton of things she could do by now. We'd only be restating the list. They'd be things I'd be trying to do, to at least pitch in and pull my own weight, and not simply be a consumer of precious resources.
