well put; im right with you on all points

for me the high points on all fronts (be it situation/personal drama) have been with them on the ship - the low points: on earth

I too feel there's been a trade of one form of predictability for another, not just in character but episodic formula; with the exception of 'water' - most episodes to date spend 30 mins on the drama, then 10 mins on some action at the end, and 5 mins for the cliffhanger

as the show is in its first season ( and i disagree with those who say what we see now will represent the show further down the road - most sci-fi shows from TNG, though SG1 and SGA morphed a lot from their 1st seasons) I will be interested to see what happens in the second part of the season after the 2 parter that usually divides the series

though im getting the feeling so far this show wont be for me

Mixed thoughts on this episode. Some parts were good. I do enjoy how Jack is being used for this series. Even though he doesn't appear on every episode, the way they use Jack almost makes him feel like part of the show. I don't enjoy the younger cast, which is surprising given how they are clsoer to my age than the older cast. I actually like Rush the most as he's intriguing. Young as well, though this episode might have tinged that a little. I enjoyed the first four episodes of this show immensely. The last three not so much, but am still in for the season as the show continues to grow and find its feet.

did anyone else think eli might have had a car accident, like last scene we saw him he was driving, then there was a switch, i imagine that disorientation would not be safe, but then luckily they must have got out the car before that

Thats what i am hoping for but you do wonder how long the show may have if ratings begin to fall, i know a lot of die-hard SG fans that dont watch this show because they think it killed SGA.

Like you i do hold out hope for the 2-parter, if that is good then the story might get enough material to push on but if not then well... The more i watch the show i do think perhaps this show isnt for me but i'll watch it anyway because it is SG and there isnt anything else which im into right now, since we lost SG and BSG (and lost which will end after this coming season)

Way to go ancients, I guess guns are the one thing that every intruder needs to have control over.
Its indeed a bit strange they would give intruding aliens access to the weapons system. But it was what the story needed.

And let's face it, Ancients: not deep thinkers.

The episode was horrible. It seem this Stargate episode has been taken over by internet fanfic writers. And it ain't better than much of them.

Isn't that ironic since this episode was written by a Stargate veteran writer?

                      Hey, was a great episode!

I think we made some decent head ground, opened up a lil more of Destiny, and the crew, and in the end, brought a new sense of unity to the crew!

                      Looking great!

Please for the love of gawd don't keep this up for the entire season be a little more creative and we want action. I was yawning throughout the whole episode.
You mean besides using Ancient technology and the Stargate to solve a problem. No it wasn't Stargate.

I think it was a definite turning point for everybody. I think that the focus of the show will start to shift a little now. They've been constantly thinking about going home but now I think the reality of their journey together is going to start setting in and they'll start thinking more along the lines of making the ship their home. I think we'll start to see more off-world excursions as a result.

This episode started out bad bad bad,but ended better. The easy way to get rid of the bad things is to get rid of the communication stones. The only earth scene that really had a point and was good was when Eli visits his mother as Philip Fry. Telford is only bringing soap-drama into Stargate, and I don`t see how he ended up having anything to do with the SGC in the first place. But anyway, easy solution is to loose the stones. So far they have almost always created (soap/drama) problems. Some part of the earth scenes we have seen in the first 7 episodes have had some sort of explaining the characters, but this time it was`nt good.

Well, the ending was good. Not the Telford going to Mrs. Young to get "something",but Rush`s speak was great. While I was giving "Light" 8/10,this one gets a 5/10. Maybe a 6.
I will try to watch it again, but this was the only episode that made me concerned about where SGU has its future.

It was nice to see the weapons, but how come they`re not "hidden" in the core systems that Rush could`nt operate?

I tuned out when they did the pointless club scene.

Hello, new to the board but not new to the StarGate World. I've watched from the very beginning.

Anyways-this show has had some problems and one of them in my opinion is that all the leaders that were on the Icarius project were crazy. Telford and Young are crazy.

Anyways about this ep-yep absolutely that was soooo unethical what Young did of course I'm wondering if Telfords not been seeing this woman on the side anyways. And if not and he was going back to get more then he and Young are the craziest commanders that the SG world has ever come up with and Young is suppose to be the star or at least one of the main characters.

The other thing about the whole trip to earth is I do think they let non Military people leave the post too easily without escorts. The reason-these guys are involved in something very highly classified and I just don't see the Pentagon allowing that. Those two should not have been at that bar. And not just because of classified info but remember there are people running around on Earth that have their own agenda and StarGate people have been kidnapped. So stop the bar hopping!

I liked the ep overall because of how Rush handled it all and he, Eli and Greer are my favorite characters.

One other thing, why wasn't Eli involved in this project instead of having his heart broken? Math Boy could have been helping out-especially since no one trusts Rush. I mean...really?
