Well... what a heart breaking scene at the beginning! Poor Eli! So yes, I was thinking, he sess them, together, Matt and Chloe, and you can see the jealousy in his eyes, and ... oh yes, he wants Matt so badly! Why do I think that? ... yeah, because I'm a slasher LOL, but look at the final scene, when the shuttle is back, and who's the first who's running to see it, cause he's sooo worried about Matt? Oh yes, it's Eli. And Chloe... well, I do think she sees a brother in him, nothing else... and Eli have the similar thoughts about her... but about Matt... that's a different story , he wants him badly!
