[QUOTE=Cairistiona;13388486]One of my fellow Gaelic learners has ordered the Hamish DVDs. I have to ask her about it next week.

I bought the DVDs a couple of months ago and love them! They are very different from the books, though. Hamish (in the books) is very sarcastic - which is funny and doesn't take away from the character at all. I love RC's vision of Hamish, though. He does such a good job of being - well, it's almost like being a good parent - patient with eccentric people, protective without being heavy-handed, making sure the bad guy is brought to justice. In both the books and the shows the one thing that is constant is that Hamish loves the people of his village and is commited to them. I like that. And his love life's a mess.

I really appreciate all of the Hamish photos that you post. RC is so cute as Hamish.

he has deleted the 'who is reading this thread' information on the bottom, so now we have no idea if anyone is around and who is around I really miss this information - what do you think about it?
I really liked that too. It often determined if I stayed on the thread or GW longer or not. If you see familiar names, one is more likely to stick around to converse. I will go add my comment to Darrin's thread.

They must have just done it, all that whining and complaining payed off. There are a lot of folks over there who complained.
