"Stargate Universe" Discussion/Speculation (Spoilers)

By this I mean using the stargate more etc and more of the unknown and new disoveries

I think the 9th chevron will either represent a jump to an alternate universe (requiring MASSIVE amounts of power - ZPM's in series? ) orrrrrrrrrr just an extra distance factor.

I just realised something, that COULD have merit, instead of using 6 symbols around the galaxy and a point of origin to establish a destination, and the 8th chevron is a distance factor.

WHAT IF....in order to get the ninth chevron to work, it requires six distinct galaxies and our galaxy as a point of origin to access another address

we know of several galaxies

ours is the milky way
ori
ida
pegesus
the galaxy of aliens from foothold....
and there was a galaxy they visited that had replicators but it wasnt pegesus or ida (Exodus, last ep of season 4)

think about it, i know its not it but the idea does have some fact behind it, its like reaching a place further then anything we could imagine.

And, from what we have seen, each galaxy tends to have a different 8th chevron required to get there. Each of those symbols could represent the galaxies in your idea.

No I think the foothold Aliens were from the Milkey Way.

They were definetly from our galaxy or they at least have a large base in our galaxy

I dislike all this talk of a new universe there is plenty of stuff for the SGC to clean up in our own galaxy not to mention Ida, pegasus and perhaps the ori galaxy after the ark of truth

I don't like all this talk of going to a new universe either given how long it takes an asgard ship to travel to pegasus it would take several hundreds of thousands times that to go to another universe so i doubt the ancients ever went to a new universe.......

Also it was never said that the new show would centre entirely around the 9th chevron just that it would include it.......right?

I can't believe that this was never built up further. These guys must have had some pretty sweet energy sources to get here in the first place.

Yeah its understandable, i've been complaining that they haven't done anything about them over the years....they only had about 8 years to do it lol.

Yeah me too I can't believe that I didn't notice that.....But I doubt that the writers ever intented to turn it into anything big but yeah that was a nice catch.....Locutus_Of_Borg ......

Are you trying to prove that the aliens are from our galaxy, because it does suggest that.

The goa'uld are the dominant parasite species in this galaxy - but we like them do not know the dominant parasite in another galaxy. It can be seen both ways.

The onl way it would prove they were from another galaxy is if they said - unlike in our galaxy or later said we have to leave this galaxy. However as it stands it can be interpreted both ways

It implies they are from another galaxy imo, but I agree it's not proof. I think those aliens from Prometheus Unbound were from another galaxy aswell, in a later episode Netan says something to one of them like 'You're the biggest fool in two galaxies!'...

I think it's also they hint things like that so if they ever need a storyline, to add something or get something to make sense they just relate back to little things that were planted in the episodes just incase but i could be wrong.

But the thing that bugs me is that they always leave big stories hanging like that...

arh well, but hopefully SGU relates back to something like that or has a REALLY good way on how to use the ninth chevron
