Man both of those are nice, especially the one on the ancients... Though with the Jonas one. Why would he not have gone up in a ball of flame like Garrek did?

      Thanks.

Well, in my opinion, Gerak had to go in a flame like that because the Ori installed a safeguard in him in case he betrayed them. But I'm going to say that Jonas, like Daniel, was trusted by Adria not to go against the Ori army.

Besides, he used the Prior powers to return himself to normal, much like Daniel had Merlin to regenerate him. So my answer is that he was able to protect himself (seeing as the Ancients were preventing the Ori from burning him themselves).

        Spoiler:
They built the stargates. They conquered a galaxy. But, at long last, their time is coming to an end...

10,000 years before the Stargate Program was ever created, we find a galaxy embroiled in war. The sudden emergence of the parasitic Goa'uld "System Lords" has shocked the major galactic powers, and the planet Sol System (ours) has become a highly contested area.

In Antarctica, several thousand Ancients arrive through the stargate at Atlantus Outpost, grateful to be returning to a place of peace and safety. But they find a terrible surprise waiting for them; as the refugees travel by puddle jumper to their former cities in modern-day Egypt and Greece, they encounter vast armies of early Jaffa and hordes of prototype death gliders.

A battle ensues for control of the second stargate at Egypt, with the Ancients desperately trying to free Earth from the choke of Goa'uld oppression, but they are overwhelmed. They brought few weapons from Pegasus, and cannot defeat the inferior, but more numerous, alien craft. Confused by this turn of events, and amazed that their capitol world has become little more than a slave-trading hub, they return to Antarctica and gate to Helopolis, the old stronghold of the Alliance.

They find the fortress largely abandoned, but the Ancients are relieved to see Asgard and Nox troops still guarding it. Two of the Lanteans (Janus and Melia) meet with the Asgard's minor representative in this galaxy, a young captain called Thor.

Thor informs them that the Alliance fleet first encountered System Lord ships five-hundred years previous, and had won many victories against them. But then the Furlings, whose ships vessels had made up a bulk of the Alliance fleet, suddenly vanished. Without that influx of ships, the fledgling fleets of the Asgard and Nox were unable to block Goa'uld expansion.

Melia and Janus are surprised, seeing as the Asgard had a vast armada before they left for the Pegasus Galaxy. But Thor explains that they have recently come across a terrible enemy that for the time being is held at bay, but would probably overrun the Asgard if they diverted their fleet to the Milky Way. And the Nox ships aren't terribly powerful, leading to the Goa'uld being able to dominate through sheer numbers.

Knowing the Ancients were expert ship-builders, Thor asks if they have a fleet to add to the Alliance's might. But the Lanteans reluctantly admit that they don't have a single warship to their name, only a small fleet of pudle jumpers. However, they offer the Asgard a complete copy of their knowledge base, hoping that they can utilize their advancements in the future.

With that accomplished, Janus and Melia decide to check on one of their oldest strongholds... Proclaroush Taonas. They know it was abandoned shortly before the Exodus to Pegasus, but they hope to find something left over there. So, leaving the rest of their people at Heliopolis for the time being, they depart through the gate.

The two Lanteans emerge at a beautiful outpost, but find a shocking revelation; the shield that has protected this place in the Ancients' absence has kept going and going... and has been completely covered by lava. They can see the molten material flowing overhead, and quickly check the ZPM... It will keep going for another few thousand years, they estimate, and bring up Taonas' database. Janus wants to see if any mothballed Ancient warships are still lying around, and most of the fleet's data was stored here at Taonas.

But almost before he can begin, Melia sees a fleet of primitive ha'tak emerge from hyperspace overhead. She guesses that, after seeing the Ancients on Earth, the System Lords have decided to try and track down the survivors by going to their old bases. Immediately, death gliders pour down and begin firing on the shield, even through the lava.

Janus transfers as much power to the shield as he can, shutting down most of the outpost's systems in the process. The facility is out of drones, and they see no choice but to evac back to Helopolis. As they leave, Janus sets the shield to collapse back to the bare minimum for protecting the center of the base... Which means that after they leave, the stargate will be covered in magma. Taking one last look back, Melia dials out, and the two Lanteans leave, never to return.

Back on Helopolis, Janus and Melia are informed that the Nox have just lost a major engagement with Goa'uld forces over a world called Langara. A renegade System Lord has taken over there, and the Alliance sees no way to reclaim the human world.

Now the Ancients realize that the Milky Way is truly lost. With only one member of the Alliance still able to fight, the galaxy cannot survive. Janus asks the Asgard if they will protect as many human worlds as they can, and Thor promises that around 20 planets have already been secured. He hopes that, someday, another race will be able to assist them in safeguarding these "free worlds", but it seems unlikely.

With the Alliance breaking up, the Nox declare that they will be falling back to their home system, and trying to keep the Goa'uld from penetrating farther into their sector of the galaxy. The Asgard also say that, except for the 20 safe worlds, they will be pulling out of galactic affairs to better manage their war in Ida. The Ancient refugees decide to head back to Earth, some saying they'll live amongst the humans and help them resist the Goa'uld, others saying they'll head out for worlds unknown.

One brash young Ancient, Myyrdin, claims he'll find a way to protect the Milky Way once and for all, but another, Ganos Lal, simply laughs, telling him it's a fools dream against these odds. Melia and most of the high-ranking Lanteans decide to travel to a planet called "Tollan", where they will try and set up their civilization again. Even if they die there, they hope someone will embrace their legacy one day.

And Janus? He spent the rest of his days thinking of the one named "Elizabeth Weir", imagining what the galaxy would be like when her kind rescued this war-torn galaxy from the Goa'uld and reclaimed Atlantis. Thinking he might be able to help them one day, he sets down to work on a small forest world (later seen in "It's Good to Be King"), and begins building a second time jumper...

Suposedly (according to "The Fourth Horseman"), the Ori installed a sort of safeguard in Gerak so that if he went rogue, he'd burn up. Now I'm saying Adria/the Ori didn't do that with Jonas because Adria trusted him (after all, he burned a hundred Kellownans alive...); she never thought he'd turn on her.

Now, the only other way the Ori could burn Jonas for betraying them would be to burn him themselves, right? Well, the Ancients prevent the Ori from doing such a thing in the Milky Way, so Jonas sort of gets a "get out of jail free" card here.

Gracias. I've always wanted to see something explain what happened to the Lanteans once they stopped being Lanteans lol.

And some more, but personally I don't like how this idea came out...: (for the record, none of my movie ideas are tied together, so, although Dakara was rebuilt in one, it may not be in this one)

                  Spoiler:
Our greatest allies sacrificed themselves for us... But is that how it has to end?

It has been a few months since the events of "Unending", and Daniel Jackson is going over more of the Asgard knowledge base (which has been moved to its own room in the SGC). He's hardly scratched the surface of it, but it already confused by a repeated motif along the edge of the holopgraphic display. No matter which page he turns to, it's always there, as if taunting him to decipher it. But he can't.

While he's at work, Teal'c joins him, newly arrived from Chulak. According to him, the Jaffa Nation will be setting up routine patrols around the edge of the galaxy, to prevent any sort of incursion like that of the Ori. While Daniel is heartened by this news, it's easy for Teal'c to see that something else is on his mind. Hoping he can help, he asks what's going on, and Jackson explains.

After several minutes of studying the holograms himself, Teal'c admits that he, too, is unable to see the point of the motif, and asks if Daniel would like to acompany him to Dakara to take his mind off things. He agrees, and the two set off through the stargate.

On Dakara, they find reconstruction continuing smoothly, with much of the Temple complex already rebuilt. And although it would be impossible to completely restore the mountain that once stood there, the Jaffa are constructing a beautiful stone replica in memory of it.

As they tour the construction site, Teal'c tries to talk Daniel away from the Asgard core, and more about other issues. But he stubbornly refuses to give it up. Everytime he sees a picture or a script, Daniel starts on it again. As a last ditch effort to pry him away, Teal'c makes an attempt at a joke, asking if Daniel believes the Asgard were trying to play a game with him by inserting such a confusing line over and over...

And that's when it clicks for him. Daniel races back to the gate and returns to Earth, where he pulls out all the stocks for translation. He locks himself in the knowledge base's chamber, studying the images. Carter, and even O'Neill in Washington, quickly become concerned, but Teal'c assures them Daniel knows what he's doing... at least, he thinks so.

Finally, after a day of seclusion, Daniel emerges. He seems euphoric, shouting that he's "solved it all!". After Dr. Lam gets him calmed down and orders him to explain, he claims to know the location of the very-much-alive Asgard race. According to Daniel, the script he found hidden inside the knowledge base was a last-minute addition by Thor himself, who didn't want the memory of his kind to vanish forever.

Allegedly, the script tells of a world called Valhalla deep within the former Asgard empire in the Ida Galaxy. Daniel claims that the Asgard left something behind there for SG-1 to find, hoping they could, as Daniel says, "reverse the hands of fate". When Jackson even offers stargate coordinates, both Landry and O'Neill aprove an exploratory mission.

Vala and Mitchell offer to hang back and go over more of the knowledge base, so Carter, Daniel, and Teal'c gate to Atlantis (seeing as it has an other-galaxy-dialing ZPM). They're soon joined by General O'Neill, who says he got permission directly from the President to come along; he missed the Asgard's last moments, he won't miss this.

So with the team assembled, Carter dials out to Valhalla, and they leave. They arrive on a very urbanized Asgard planet, with cities stretching on as far as the eye can see. Daniel surmises that this must have been one of the few worlds not ravaged by the Replicators, and the team fans out, looking for this thing left behind by their old friends. But hours later, they're still looking, and it seems like this was all a wasted trip.

As SG-1 returns to the stargate, Jack decides to take a peak in the largest building in the city, which is designated the "Hall of the Alliance". Apparently, it was the Ancient Alliance's outpost in Ida. When the team steps inside, the compelx comes to life. A hologram of Thor appears, welcoming the representatives of the Fifth Race, and expressing his gladness that they have come.

The holographic Thor explains that, while the Asgard scientists could never find a cure to their genetic weakness... he believes he has. If someone were to return to the exact time the Asgard decided to begin cloning themselves, and stop them, their race would never die out. They would have remained strong and powerful, and could have lasted far longer than they did.

The hologram fizzles out, and SG-1 immediately begins debating their options. O'Neill and Teal'c are all for finding some way to head into the past and save the Asgard, but Daniel and Carter say that too much could change. But, at long last, O'Neill gets his way. Following extra instructions from Thor's hologram, she locates a prototype he was working on: it would allow a single trip backwards in time, and a single return trip. Not waiting for anyone to reconsider, O'Neill trips the device, sending he, Carter, and Daniel into the past. Teal'c, being several feet away, did not get sent, and immediately heads for the stargate to inform Atlantis as to what's happened.

Meanwhile, several thousand years in the past, SG-1 finds themselves... in the exact same spot. But this time, there are dozens of beings around, ranging from Nox to Asgard to, surprisingly, a few Ancients. Even more surprising, though, is the sudden appearance of Thor nearby, who asks who these "primitives" are and how they got so far into the city undetected.

For the time being, SG-1 is beamed to a holding cell elsewhere in the city, forced to cool their heels and wait. Eventually, Thor comes to speak with them. He's not Supreme Commander now, but does control the planetary defense forces. He irritibly asks who would try and infiltrate Valhalla on such a momentous day. Daniel, not understanding, asks what he means. Thor's answer is quick; the first Asgard cloning is going to commence today.

When Daniel and Jack try to explain that they cannot do this, Thor becomes angry and leaves. Now, the team must find a way to escape and prevent the cloning from taking place.

Eventually, they're able to overpower an Asgard security guard that comes to bring them food, and they get out. Carter rushes to the control center of the detainment facility, and uses their beaming station to beam herself, O'Neill, and Daniel into a park just outside the stargate facility (which they saw upon arrival on Valhalla). Once there, they ascertain the location of the cloning ceremony from a public information terminal, and head off. Of course, they must stay hidden, as human societies are still considered woefully primitive at this point.

As they arrive, they find many Asgard dignitaries standing near an open-air laboratory, where a subject is entering the cloning chamber. Jack and Carter both grab weapons (that they stole from the guard at the detention center), but, just as they're about to act, Daniel stops them. Eyes widening, he realizes what a terrible mistake they've made.

Daniel explains that if they stop this from happening, everything will change. Thor won't live to meet SG-1, the Asgard would never have to destroy themselves, thus Earth would never get their technology. For all they know, the Asgard surviving could lead to terrible things down the road... They can't interfere.

Carter admits that he's right, and SG-1 watches from the sidelines as Thor volunteers for cloning, but just before he enters the chamber, he looks back at the hedges where the humans are crouched. He doesn't really acknowledge that someone's there, but he does note it, then steps in for cloning. Knowing that there's little more they can do, Carter activates the time device and SG-1 returns to the present.

They arrive back in the abandoned Hall of the Alliance, just as empty as it was before. But there's a slight difference now... the hologram that appears is one of Thor saying good-bye to SG-1. He remembers the brave humans that tried to save his kind so long ago, and realizes now why it would never have worked. And with that final good-bye, the hologram winks out.

The team heads back to the stargate, preparing to return back to the SGC... back to the tear-filled timeline that they know so well.

It's really great that you are so full of ideas. Pretty darn good ones too.

Whatever the story ends up being I would like to see Jonas included in the adventure.

Stories I would most like to see would be,

                        1. The Nicholas Ballard story revisted and the Crystal Skull aliens explored in more depth (They could call it, "Daniel Jackson and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull")

                        2. The Aschen. This is a story that is screaming for a movie. This could really be a great action packed story.

                        3. The Furlings. Maybe they could consolidate several remaining storylines at once. They could reveal that the Furlings are a race of genie like beings that were created by the Aschen long ago and ordered to guard crystal skulls while wearing Koala bear suits. They could further show that Jonas Quinn's DNA is the only thing that can save the dying race of Furlings before they permanently devolve and become crystal skulls themselves.

I always felt that the safeguard was installed in all priors.. look at what happened to the one who came to earth when garrek was visitign..

ANd that latest one on the asguard was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd definitely be up for seeing the Aschen pop up again. We run across them trying to take over another world, and the fight is on from that point.
