    Spoiler:
Construction of a supergate in the Pegasus Galaxy is going along at a breakneck pace, with the second gate nearly completed. On Atlantis, Col. Samantha Carter orders the Apollo, along with Col. Sheppard and Dr. McKay, to activate the portal.

As they set off, Carter recieves a message via stargate from the SGC; they've detected several rather strange energy readings coming from the edge of the Milky Way, and want to know if they should abort the test-dialing. But Sam assures them that the supergates in both galaxies should be far enough away to avoid any problems, and they decide to continue anyway.

Meanwhile, in the Milky Way itself, Daniel Jackson and Col. Mitchell have arrived at the original supergate onboard a newly constructed BC-303 transport, the Pendergast. They're here to welcome the Apollo back home, and then to escort them to Earth for debriefing.

(NOTE: We learn now that Teal'c is overseeing construction of a new class of ha'tak on a Jaffa shipbuilding world.)

The test commences, and the supergates on both ends activate in grand fashion. There's much celebration on both ends, and the Apollo prepares to come through.

Suddenly, a hyperspace window forms behind the Pendergast, and a trio of ships unlike anything Daniel or Mitchell have seen before emerge. Just as the Apollo comes out of the supergate, the alien vessels fire on the 303, wearing its shields down in seconds. Its commander orders an immediate jump to hyperspace, and it flees the battle.

But now Sheppard and his team must take on the enemy ships alone. As the supergate shuts down behind them, they engage. But even with the newly Asgard upgraded shields, they don't make any headway. And when four more vessels (two of a different design) arrive, the Apollo has no choice but to fall back as well. Col. Ellis orders a retreat, and they head for Earth.

Once everyone's arrived safe and sound, General O'Neill demands to know what happened. Daniel shows the assembled people (Carter (not here, but is talking to them via the gate bridge), Vala, Mitchell, Landry, and O'Neill) images captured by the Pendergast during the brief battle with the alien ships, and everyone is shocked when Carter claims she's seen them before.

According to the Colonel, she saw one of these cruisers a few years before, when she was trapped onboard the Prometheus in a nebula ("Grace"). She traded the lives of the crew for a way out of the nebula, and the Prometheus and the unknown ship parted ways. But she has no idea who they are or why they've suddenly attacked the Earth forces. Regardless, she says she'll be coming through the gate bridge to help.

In the interim, Landry and O'Neill recall the Oddyssey from its patrols, and order the Daedalus to turn around (it had barely left the SGC a few hours before). They're not taking any chances. In addition, O'Neill orders Dr. Lee to shut down the Milky Way supergate via subspace command; he doesn't want these aliens to be able to use the link into Pegasus.

Finally, Carter arrives. Sheppard heads back to Atlantis to take commandin her absense, but Sam asks McKay and the Apollo to stay until this crisis has passed; she knows they may need his help.

The team decides that the best course of action would be to return to the supergate and try and open communications with these aliens, so they take the entire Earth fleet with them to force the enemy to talk. The Odyssey, Daedalus, Apollo, and Pendergast depart, each carrying as many extra F-302s as they can hold.

(NOTE: Carter, McKay, Daniel, Mitchell, and O'Neill are aboard the fleet. Carter and O'Neill are on the Odyssey, the others are on the Daedalus. Landry and Vala remained behind, not being helpful in the current situation.)

When they come out of hyperspace at the supergate, they find it swarming with 12+ alien cruisers, several smaller support ships, and hundreds of fighters. Apparently, they've been bringing in more forces since the original engagement. Going by the enormous energy the ships are giving off, Carter and McKay surmise that these ships were what the SGC picked up entering the Milky Way earlier.

Although they are clearly outnumbered, Carter wants to establish contact anyways. Even as the enemy ships power their weapons, she opens communications with the lead ship, which looks like the one she ran into years before. Just as she starts talking, the aliens suddenly stop powering their weaponry, and stand down. Carter asks why they fired on the Earth ships, seeing as they did nothing to provoke them.

The response is quick. A holographic image appears on the Oddyssey's bridge; it's a playback of the interchange from when the alien ship and the Prometheus were trapped in the nebula. The image shifts; several ships bearing a remarkable resemblance to those of Earth appear, attacking a few of the alien vessels. From this the team realizes that the aliens believe Earth and this mysterious other race are one in the same.

Carter tries to explain that they've never met these aliens, aside from that one incident in the nebula, but one of the other ships moves ahead of the lead one (the lead one being the one from "Grace") and fires on the Odyssey. Seeing no real other option, O'Neill orders the fleet to fire.

An exchange of weaponry commences; but it appears that with the ZPM-holding Odyssey absorbing much of the enemy fire, the two groups are about even. Almost as if they know neither side can win as is, the alien ships begin probing the Earth vessels' computers, and download the location of Earth with ease. As soon as they do, every last ship jumps into hyperspace.

By this time, McKay has figured out that the aliens were probably drawn to the supergate because of the extraordinary amount of energy it releases into space, and that encountering the Earth ships was just a coincidence. Knowing this, O'Neill turns the fleet around, hoping that their Asgard hyperdrives can head off the aliens before they reach Earth.

Amazingly, they do, but just barely. Landry, once aware of the situation, powers up the Antarctic defense platform, and the Tau'ri ships arrange themselves in a defensive blockade around Earth.

The aliens arrive, and it seems that there's nothing anyone can do to prevent a skirmish in the skies above Earth. Carter launches a mega-EMP to scramble international satellites, to prevent anyone from seeing, and they all prepare for the worst.

But then, everything changes. A lone alien ship drops out of hyperspace, coming to rest directly between the two fleets. After a long moment of waiting, during which Carter picks up a conversation between the new arrival and the alien fleet, but cannot understand, the enemy leaves. They all jump into hyperspace. McKay says their bearing is several hundred star systems away.

Now the lone ship turns to face the Earth ships, and they all get a big surprise. A dozen more decloak from around it, and an image of Lya of the Nox appears on the Odyysey's bridge. She bows to O'Neill and Carter, and apologizes for the hostility shown by her brethren; it was an ancient Nox expedition party returning home, and their advance scout (from "Grace") confused the Prometheus with one of their ancient enemies. When they saw the Apollo and the Pendergast, they thought they were doing the right thing.

Carter assures Lya that they hold no ill will toward the Nox, but ask why they decided to come and help them. Before departing for hyperspace, the Nox mystic smiles and replies:

"You are no longer one of the very young, Colonel Carter. Welcome to the larger world."

And with that, and an offer to visit the Nox homeworld anytime they wish, Lya and her ships depart.
That's certainly one heck of a way to bring

    back into things.

the nox imo did not make sense since they are pacifists, i cannot see their ships bearing weaponry
      Thank you

Honestly, I considered that at first, too. But the Nox were once part of the ancient Alliance, so the original alien ships (the expedition ones) were from a period BEFORE the pacifism set in. Lya just brought old, unused vessels to Earth to ward them off.

I should've put that in, but I was tired of typing lol.

Idea 2 we become as advanced as the lanteans where and go on a bottom kicking exercise. This one would be us blowing lots of stuff up.this second idea is also a tidying up idea as we no that we do become very advanced one day as chassandra sends the team home useing advanced tech in the episode where sg-1 are sent back in time to 1969

(I really should make a thread for this lol... So many people get confused by it.)

It's a virtual series like Stargate Horizon; it's not viewed, it's presented in script-form and read.

Anyway, back on topic: I liked your first idea, francis, in that we'd get to see the Furlings (finally...). But the second one I think TPTB will shy away from. They tend to like keeping us somewhat in the 'underdog' position.

              Yet ANOTHER idea:

              Spoiler:

When one of their own falls to the enemy, will SG-1 be able to bring him back?

(NOTE: This takes place during Season 10 of Stargate SG-1, between the episodes "Company of Thieves" and "The Quest, Part 1")

At Stargate Command, tensions are coming to a boiling point. The war with the Ori is not going well, and with the recent near-loss of the DSC-304 Odyssey, and the internal collapse of the Jaffa Nation, there is little hope remaining.

Lt. Col. Samantha Carter arrives onbase, coming from Cassandra Frasier's birthday party. She hooks up with Dr. Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran at the base entrance, and they proceed down to Level 28, where they find pure chaos. Apparently, there was an early morning offworld activation from Langara, and Ambassador Traska (from the nation of Kellowna) came through the stargate, requesting sanctuary.

SG-1 (now joined by Teal'c and Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell) proceed to the infirmary, where the Ambassador is being given a standard examination by Dr. Caroline Lam. Once Lam has given her a clean bill of health, the team sits down to talk.

And Traska has some interesting news indeed; when the Ori army defeated the Langarans (several weeks before in "Counterstrike"), Jonas Quinn began leading an underground resistance (of which the Ambassador is a part). SG-1 is understandably thrilled to hear that their former comarade is alive and well, but they notice that the Ambassador still appears very somber. When asked why, the revelation is shocking:

Jonas Quinn is a Prior of the Ori.

According to Traska, he was captured in an anti-Ori raid two weeks previous, and the underground's spies confirmed that the Orici herself came to Langara to try and convert the legendary former member of SG-1. Jonas tried to resist, but eventually gave in, presumably to try and fight against the Ori from the inside. But recent intel suggests that Jonas has gotten in over his head, and his original plan of "strike from within" has backfired... he now truly believes in the Ori and their cause.

Shocked, Daniel asks if she is certain that Jonas has gone over, but she merely shakes her head. Apparently, he burned over one-hundred underground members to death three days ago; since then, the resistance has had to relocate and send any members Jonas knew about into hiding.

Now, with only the Andari Federation managing to hold the tide against the endless waves of Ori soldiers, Trasks asks if SG-1 can try to liberate her world. The stargate is inaccesible (she only got through because the resistance held off the Ori army outside the Kellownan capitol), but there is only a captured ha'tak in orbit. The Ori warship that had conquered Langara was forced to move on to other worlds several days ago, so the Odyssey should have little trouble gaining orbital supremacy.

Knowing that Jonas means a lot to SG-1, Landry approves the mission, but says that they'll have to do this alone. He can have the Odyssey deploy them deep into the Andari Federation (where Jonas is believed to be leading the enemy troops), and provide a basic tactical outlook, but then the 304 will have to return to Earth for planetary defense. The team acknowledges, and they set off for Langara.

As SG-1 departs, Landry offers Traska temporary quarters at the SGC, which she accepts. She asks the General if it's possible for the Ori to find her here, but he assures her that the iris can hold them back.

Meanwhile, en route, Daniel, Carter, and Teal'c tell Vala and Mitchell just who Jonas is, and why he's so important to them. Apparently, they begged Landry and O'Neill to let them launch a rescue mission when Langara fell, but the generals' hands were tied. Now, though, they intend to get their old friend back.

Finally, the Odyssey arrives. They find, as promised, a single ha'tak in orbit, which they promptly engage. But something seems wrong... the enemy ship's shields are much stronger than they should be, and its weaponry is depleting the Earth vessel's own shields with ease. After a moment, Carter realizes that the Ori must have upgraded their captured warships, making this ha'tak a match for the normally more-advanced Odyssey. The ship's commander knows they won't last much longer, and things look bad when the Asgard beam gets knocked offline.

Thankfully, Daniel remembers the ring platform in the Kellownan capitol's Museum of Natural History, and SG-1 rings down to it. The Odyssey promptly jumps to safety, leaving the upgraded ha'tak in orbit.

Now on the planet, SG-1 fans out. They're nowhere near their intended target area, and they don't know the terrain or situation here. Several squadrons of Ori fighters patrol the skies, and a few patrols stroll about; apparently, this has become the Ori command center. There are few civilians, and where there are any, they look terrified.

Amazingly, they're able to make contact with some members of the resistance, but only because they recognize SG-1 from Anubis' invasion several 3 years ago and pull them into one of their safehouses. Apparently, Jonas has returned to the city to speak with Adria via stargate. The conference is to begin in an hour, and it may be possible to nab him right after the two are finished speaking; Jonas usually orders the guards to leave him alone when talking to the Orici.

An hour later, SG-1 watches from the shadows of the Kellownan gate room as Jonas speaks with Adria. They're a little surprised to hear that Adria is planning to leave to go after the Sangraal very soon, and are shocked when she says she predicts SG-1 will help her in her search. But then the conversation ends, and Jonas shuts down the gate, preparing to go...

Carter and Daniel step out of the shadows, firing their zats. Jonas raises a hand, deflecting the attack, but neglects to notice Vala behind him. Just as Carter and Jackson's blasts dissipate, she fires her own zat. Jonas cannot react in time, and falls to the ground, stunned. Teal'c and Mitchell quickly grab him and carry him off to an abandoned warehouse nearby.

When Jonas finally comes to, he finds himself trapped; Carter has set up an anti-Prior device, and Mitchell and Daniel have zats aimed at him. He arrogantly declares that they've accomplished nothing, and that killing him will do little but serve the Ori's grand plan. Heartbroken, the original members of SG-1 try and convince him that he would never follow Origin, that he would fight it, but Jonas won't listen.

Several hours later, while the team is discussing their next course of action, Jonas breaks free. He's managed to overcome the anti-Prior device, and bats Daniel and Mitchell aside before they can stun him. He dukes it out with Vala and Teal'c for several moments, trading attacks back and forth, but Carter is able to reset the anti-Prior device just in time, and Jonas is subdued. Unfortunately though, it appears that he was able to contact the Ori forces while he was free, and Ori troops are already on the move toward them.

A brief skirmish ensues between SG-1 and the Ori army, but the Earth team is eventually overwhelmed. They're captured and taken to the Kellownan capitol building for detainment.

While incarcerated, the team comtemplates their options... But things look grim. Things look even worse when Jonas confronts them and smugly informs the team that he has dispatched a trio of Ori-upgraded ha'tak to Earth to wipe out the Tau'ri once and for all. To make things even harder for them, he takes the team to torture sessions one by one, starting with Carter.

But Sam refuses to give up anything, regardless of the pain. He tries with Teal'c, but is also unsuccessful. Mitchell and Vala are taken and returned, and finally it's down to Daniel.

(NOTE: During these torture scenes, each SG-1 member has tried to convince Jonas he's good, and it has slowly been getting to him.)

Jonas takes great pleasure in tormenting Daniel, telling him how useless his sacrifices have been, and that the Ori will soon destroy the Ancients he so reveres. But Daniel retorts that it doesn't really matter, because he knows that he will die free and without guilt, and that he, unlike Jonas, has not succumbed to the evil that is the Ori.

And at long last, seeing that even the powers of the Ori cannot seem to break Jackson, Jonas realizes just what he's done. He agrees to help SG-1 escape Langara, and frees the rest of the team, giving them their weapons.

The quickly leave the capitol, and head for the stargate, taking out enemy troops along the way. As Jonas holds off the Ori army outside the gate room, Carter dials Earth and tells Landry about the incoming ha'tak. He's able to power the Ancient defenses just in time to destroy the enemy craft (the platform was restocked after Atlantis' "The Tower"). With the threat to Earth gone, SG-1 gets through the stargate, after Jonas tells them he'll be fine.

              FAST FORWARD ONE WEEK

A week later, SG-1 arrives on a freed Langara as heroes. Thanks to Jonas' defection, and the Ori army/Adria's preoccupation elsewhere, the Langarans were able to force the Ori troops to surrender. The resistance movement (revealed to have tens of thousands of members) rose up, and with Jonas' help, overcame the enemy forces.

Mitchell and Vala head back to the SGC, but Jonas (who used his Prior powers to restore himself to normal) holds Carter, Teal'c, and Daniel back a moment. He thanks them for saving both him and his people, and tells them that Langara is ready to join the fight against the Ori. His old friends smile and acknowledge, knowing that they've gained a strong and willing ally in their fight, and head back through the stargate for home.

How do they power the Ancient chair in that story? They don't get a ZPM until after the Quest.

But we learn in "The Siege" that they can use two Mark II generators to power it for a short time.

no mirror universe that's becomes boring fast it's likely about the universe but teams going to other galaxy's using the stargate that also means that the sgc is more advanced then before in order to make those trips they come across a race that is very advanced but a real warrior race just like us the human race then it's like fighting yourself trying to outsmart the enemy who thinks in ways like you.

                      here's another idea.

set during the 08 US presidential elections, and also by coincidence high counciller elections for the jaffa nation. anyway, one of the humans running for presidency wants to reveal the stargate program, and the other does not, meanwhile on dakara, bra'tac is running for high counciller, with teal'c as his running mate, they want to affirm stronger relations with earth, and stuff, but the other people want to get more independance from earth. tensions run high, in the end bratac wins and the president that doesn't want to reveal the gate wins but for some reason the team decide it is the right time having defeated the ori, and having good friendship with the jaffa now, and it is revealed to the public. the end.

I wouldn't mind a movie kind of like 'The Road Not Taken' where we see all these alien technologies being put to use by the public. We can see how it corrupts the world, exactly like TRNT but in greater detail, see how all the technologies are put to use, would beaming be available to everyone? Travel would be easier but it would make crime easier aswell, robbers could just beam away without a trace. Multiple countries could have 304's, tentions could build and we'd have a civil war, 304 vs 304, F302's against F302's, it would make a great movie imo even though we'd eventually destroy ourselves, it would need a reset button.

ok this idea is really to my tast I have posted an ealyer version before but have made some refinements to the story here goes.
                          the film stats with the deadalus {which is in orbit around earth at the time}
detecting a massive energy spike they manage to triangulate the position before
the signal abruptly stops ferther scans reveal nothing.taking no chances col.coldwell radios the sgc and tells them about the energy spike sg-1 is sent to investigate.on the deadalus carter looks at the data from the scan.she recognises the signiture as a hyperspace generator being activated.
                          col.coldwell beams sg-1 to the location of the energy spike,an english villlage called glastonby{where they discoverd the acient tech left by merlin}
when sg-1 beams down all they see is a row of suberban houses.carter leads the way with a portable scaner as they walk up to an empty space where it looks like a house should be that is apparently the location of the energy spike.as they aprouch the conspicus gap they step though a cloaking field
the space was not empty arfter all there is an ordinary house.sg-1 sarround the house and prepare to go in they are about to radio the deadalus when a transporter is activated and they find them selves in a lantean style prison cell there radios and weapons are gone.
they discussd this turn of events for a couple of minutes get stung by the bars of the cell.A man walks in and demands to know why the american military was about to attack his house and how they where able to defeat the cloaking field.he also asks how the americans have got hold of an advanced starship like the deadalus.arfter he has interagated sg-1 he declairs that he has work to finish and will deal with them later.

this isnt the full story what do you think so far if you like will post more later

                                Spoiler:
They built the stargates. They conquered a galaxy. But, at long last, their time is coming to an end...

10,000 years before the Stargate Program was ever created, we find a galaxy embroiled in war. The sudden emergence of the parasitic Goa'uld "System Lords" has shocked the major galactic powers, and the planet Sol System (ours) has become a highly contested area.

In Antarctica, several thousand Ancients arrive through the stargate at Atlantus Outpost, grateful to be returning to a place of peace and safety. But they find a terrible surprise waiting for them; as the refugees travel by puddle jumper to their former cities in modern-day Egypt and Greece, they encounter vast armies of early Jaffa and hordes of prototype death gliders.

A battle ensues for control of the second stargate at Egypt, with the Ancients desperately trying to free Earth from the choke of Goa'uld oppression, but they are overwhelmed. They brought few weapons from Pegasus, and cannot defeat the inferior, but more numerous, alien craft. Confused by this turn of events, and amazed that their capitol world has become little more than a slave-trading hub, they return to Antarctica and gate to Helopolis, the old stronghold of the Alliance.

They find the fortress largely abandoned, but the Ancients are relieved to see Asgard and Nox troops still guarding it. Two of the Lanteans (Janus and Melia) meet with the Asgard's minor representative in this galaxy, a young captain called Thor.

Thor informs them that the Alliance fleet first encountered System Lord ships five-hundred years previous, and had won many victories against them. But then the Furlings, whose ships vessels had made up a bulk of the Alliance fleet, suddenly vanished. Without that influx of ships, the fledgling fleets of the Asgard and Nox were unable to block Goa'uld expansion.

Melia and Janus are surprised, seeing as the Asgard had a vast armada before they left for the Pegasus Galaxy. But Thor explains that they have recently come across a terrible enemy that for the time being is held at bay, but would probably overrun the Asgard if they diverted their fleet to the Milky Way. And the Nox ships aren't terribly powerful, leading to the Goa'uld being able to dominate through sheer numbers.

Knowing the Ancients were expert ship-builders, Thor asks if they have a fleet to add to the Alliance's might. But the Lanteans reluctantly admit that they don't have a single warship to their name, only a small fleet of pudle jumpers. However, they offer the Asgard a complete copy of their knowledge base, hoping that they can utilize their advancements in the future.

With that accomplished, Janus and Melia decide to check on one of their oldest strongholds... Proclaroush Taonas. They know it was abandoned shortly before the Exodus to Pegasus, but they hope to find something left over there. So, leaving the rest of their people at Heliopolis for the time being, they depart through the gate.

The two Lanteans emerge at a beautiful outpost, but find a shocking revelation; the shield that has protected this place in the Ancients' absence has kept going and going... and has been completely covered by lava. They can see the molten material flowing overhead, and quickly check the ZPM... It will keep going for another few thousand years, they estimate, and bring up Taonas' database. Janus wants to see if any mothballed Ancient warships are still lying around, and most of the fleet's data was stored here at Taonas.

But almost before he can begin, Melia sees a fleet of primitive ha'tak emerge from hyperspace overhead. She guesses that, after seeing the Ancients on Earth, the System Lords have decided to try and track down the survivors by going to their old bases. Immediately, death gliders pour down and begin firing on the shield, even through the lava.

Janus transfers as much power to the shield as he can, shutting down most of the outpost's systems in the process. The facility is out of drones, and they see no choice but to evac back to Helopolis. As they leave, Janus sets the shield to collapse back to the bare minimum for protecting the center of the base... Which means that after they leave, the stargate will be covered in magma. Taking one last look back, Melia dials out, and the two Lanteans leave, never to return.

Back on Helopolis, Janus and Melia are informed that the Nox have just lost a major engagement with Goa'uld forces over a world called Langara. A renegade System Lord has taken over there, and the Alliance sees no way to reclaim the human world.

Now the Ancients realize that the Milky Way is truly lost. With only one member of the Alliance still able to fight, the galaxy cannot survive. Janus asks the Asgard if they will protect as many human worlds as they can, and Thor promises that around 20 planets have already been secured. He hopes that, someday, another race will be able to assist them in safeguarding these "free worlds", but it seems unlikely.

With the Alliance breaking up, the Nox declare that they will be falling back to their home system, and trying to keep the Goa'uld from penetrating farther into their sector of the galaxy. The Asgard also say that, except for the 20 safe worlds, they will be pulling out of galactic affairs to better manage their war in Ida. The Ancient refugees decide to head back to Earth, some saying they'll live amongst the humans and help them resist the Goa'uld, others saying they'll head out for worlds unknown.

One brash young Ancient, Myyrdin, claims he'll find a way to protect the Milky Way once and for all, but another, Ganos Lal, simply laughs, telling him it's a fools dream against these odds. Melia and most of the high-ranking Lanteans decide to travel to a planet called "Tollan", where they will try and set up their civilization again. Even if they die there, they hope someone will embrace their legacy one day.

And Janus? He spent the rest of his days thinking of the one named "Elizabeth Weir", imagining what the galaxy would be like when her kind rescued this war-torn galaxy from the Goa'uld and reclaimed Atlantis. Thinking he might be able to help them one day, he sets down to work on a small forest world (later seen in "It's Good to Be King"), and begins building a second time jumper...
