    I just noticed that the kawoosh was no ordinary kawoosh, it was like a flame reaching out. Carter said that with the singularity they could maintain a wormhole almost indefinitely, now will not the Ori be able to do the same thing, and prevent them from sending the Ancient weapon through. Something else, did the Ori know that they were going to dial the SuperGate, because almost immediately after that crystal was installed, the SuperGate came to life.

      The picture is out of context...from the picture the Asgard ship is directly in front of the camera....you cant tell how far back the Prometheus is.

      It's hard to judge ship sizes in a 3 dimensional landscape.

      Yes..Im a little late in the discussion :-)

          I'm guessing it was just a case of really, really, really, really bad timing, because the ships came through almost immediately. The Ori were ready to go.

            i think that the ori ships are about the same size as the wraith hive ships
            (if you look at allies you see the size of the dedalus and the hive ship)
            God must love stupid people because he made so many of them.

              I dunno... I think the Ori ships are larger.

              The Ha'Taks are about 2x the length of the BC-304s, yet even these looked like fighters when they flew around the Ori starships.

                Pretty disappointing. Didn't feel like a season finale, with the exception of parts of the space battle. I have a sinking feeling that the next episode is going to be full of cliched quick fixes. I hope they prove me wrong, though. And admittedly I was a little surprised by how it ended... Surprisingly anti-climactic, it just kind of fizzled. I don't like how vaguely it ended, either. It wasn't the worst of the season, but it's definitely not the best.

                I'll keep this spoiler-free and vague, but I really hope they tie the season premiere into Atlantis.
                You mean like the first episode of Atlantis season 2?

                  Oh I agree...I think the Ori ships are much bigger than the "Good guys" ships. I was just commenting mostly on the picture above with the Asgard ship and the Promethius (sp)

                    I just watched that space battle 5 times (love tivo) and you know what have found out.....absolutely nothing. The only thing that looked possible is the Asgard ship did a bombing run and then disengaged...They could beam people out then.....but what kinda looked funny was the scene right after ...a ship got destroyed in the distance and it "looked" like the Asgard ship.

                    Guess we'll find out in July.

                    I personally think no main characters (IE SG-1) will die....too much work to get viewers to like Mitchell and Vala and then go ahead and kill off another main character. I didnt think the show would do as well as it did with RDA leaving the show.

                      "Oh, look! Another massively overpowering force is hovering above us, about to unleash horrible godly wrath on us. Oh, whatever shall we do. Whatever shall we do. This is such a terrible thing. Nothing can save us now!

                      Wait! We just learned about some new weapon that kill the enemy! How fortunate we are to discover this new weapon just in time! We art saved!"

                      This is, frighteningly, starting to remind me of Power Rangers. The bad guys would start acting all menacing, and the good guys would obtain just enough power to fight back and win. Then, the bad guys would come back with an even more menacing power, and just then, the good guys would be given some new power that was strong enough to fight them. Later, rinse, repeat.

                      It's like the show is endlessly going through a cycle with a predictable course, and they've gone so far ahead in technology that the winner is determined by just whoever pushes the more powerful red button.

                      I may or may not watch season ten, depending on whether *anything* original happens in the premiere.
                      Comparing SG-1 to POWER RANGERS? I know some people have said bad things about this season but that is a step to far.

                      I don't think antone cares if people with that attitude continue to watch,k because basically, the show is better off without 'fans' like you.

                        Oh... I was actually refering to the post about mines saying that the Ori ships are about as big as the Hives.

                        I think the Ori starships are bigger than the Hives. They should be after all those are ships of the uber badguys.

                          You know some of the best things are remakes and etc. Don't tell me that you hate the current BSG, because its a remake of the original one back in the 70s? Thus "un-original".

                          As for comparing SG1 to PowerRangers... no. As SGA is more fitting for PowerRangers. Check out the intro music for Power Rangers Lost Galaxy over the SGA intro scenes. Watch both videos.. and I find it very odd as to how the S1 intro and the PRLG intro music are almost syncronized...

                          Shep = Red Ranger
                          Ronan = Black Ranger
                          Teyla = Yellow Ranger
                          Cadman = Blue Ranger
                          McKay = Pink Ranger lol

                          Anyhow, the whole Ori story line is great IMO. It gives us stuff about the Ancients we never knew of before.

                          Looking at the pod-components of the SuperGate. Pod's design look very much like that of the Puddle Jumper. Which makes me wonder.... do the Ori have fighter craft?

                            Just to clarify, it wasn't identified which ship got blown apart, for all we know, it was Odyssey, after all, it's character shields were down with Carter, Mitchell, Teal'c and Daniel off the ship.

                              I've got mixed feeling about this episode. The first 30 minutes was slow. Not slow as in setting up the episode, slow as in completely redundant. They spent 30 minutes looking for something that will end up being the entire focus of season 10, just as the tablet that mentioned the "Lost City" set up the quest to find Atlantis in season 7.

                              Another thing that's really starting to bug me is the repeated use of the "weapon quest" plot to kill the big bad of the month. I mean, they've used this formula 5 times in the last 3 seasons! I'm really getting tired of the "Anti-BigBad Weapon" plot.
                              What ever happened to the team going in under cover and taking out superior forces with just a handful of specialists and a truckload of luck?

                              And then there is the scale of the things in the VFX shots; the scales seemed completely out of whack to me. For example, in Beachhead Carter clearly says that the "objects" that made up the supergate in that episode were about 10 meters in length. Then we see shots in Camelot of the same objects, and they're more like 30 meters in length. How exactly did those supergate sections fit through the stargate to get to our galaxy? There's no way.

                              This episode was definitely one of the better ones this season, but I haven't really liked much of season 9. To me, it seemed like they were trying to introduce too much new material while not revisiting enough of the old stuff. I liked alot of the ideas of season 9, I just don't like the way it was done. Alot seemed rushed, while other bits seemed to be purposely dragged out. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
                              Jarnin's Law of StarGate:

                              1. As a StarGate discussion grows longer, the probability of someone mentioning the Furlings approaches one.

                                I did never see the asgard ship blow up, their shields seem to hold better then all the other ships (not so strange). However it is a possible solution that they (the asgard) beemed the other guys of the ships on the verge of destruction and then escaped to hyperspace???
