That hasn't happened yet in this season... but I guess Brother Freyr has a point.

I re-watched this episode recently and I had the same thought, but really, the answer is quite logical. If it's a virus and the virus wears off because of the body's ability to develop antibodies, then the time the armband works for is totally dependent on the body's own immune system. Daniel was the last to get the armband, but he's also the youngest, and younger people have stronger immune systems (generally speaking). Conversely, Jack is the oldest, and his immune system would likely work more slowly.

Thinking on them some more, i wonder what effect they would have had say on a Wraith? Or Satedan?

I don't think that Ronon needs the Atoniek armbands.

Actually, Daniel is older than Sam. He was born in 1964 (according to his own comment in the Ep. "1969"). Sam was born in 1968.

Brilliant episode. Nice comedic episode. I love the scene where they go to the steak house, which was a rare moment of life outside the SGC

I wrote a oneshot/missing scene for this without having watched the episode!

How can you label it a "missing scene" if you haven't watched it?

Well, I've seen the episode now. People have told me that it isn't too bad, for someone who hadn't actually seen Upgrades at the time.

Like Hammond said: The armbands made them stupid because they felt to be totally invincible.

No thinking just reacting - stupid. Thanks god that Teal'c was there when he was needed.

Daniel has allergies, which mean he has a compromised immune system to begin with.

I just rewatched this, with commentary on. I really like listening to Martin's commentaries because of what they teach about putting together a TV show--the short timelines, the lighting issues, the little touches that make things seem real.

Just reading the comments here, personally I didn't notice Anise's "lopsided boobs" Though I did notice the bottom of her dress was lopsided in the way it was cut, looked quite cute. Carter and Janet also looked very good this episode!

This is one of those episodes that just has everything, and in such a natural way too. It was funny with none of the forced humor from Hugo (.. oops, Urgo haha), great SGC base drama (with a Tok'ra visit nonetheless), a trip outside of the SGC on Earth (unfortunately without Teal'c), and the destruction of a Goa'uld mothership. Many SG-1 episodes would be content with just one of those elements..

Not much to complain about really. I just wish they could of extended the episode another 10 minutes so we could see more of the team messing around with the upgrades.

Agreed. It would've been nice to have these devices in more episodes. At least we do get to see more footage from this episode of Daniel fighting while he was acquiring those heavy bars (can't remember what they were called) a few episodes after this one in a flashback.

I remember seeing that slant-cut dress as she was walking into the Stargate, and thinking: 'that's pretty'.

Too bad Teal'c couldn't use the armband. He would've been unstoppable, and his symbiote would likely have been able to counteract the negative effects.
