This was a reasonably good episode and as the last show of the "good Stargate" (S1-3) era, it does hold a special place in my heart. The lack of Daniel was a major detriment, and I've always found it difficult to accept that little bugs could pose such a major threat to the almighty Asgard. The bug-blasting bits were pretty fun though and the ol' "beam the Stargate up to provide an escape route" trick was great.

Stargate just keeps getting better! It's always good to see Thor again. The replicators make a great nemesis, especially since, for once, the superior technology of the Asgard can't defeat them, but SG1 manages it.
I loved Teal'c's "one small step for Jaffa" line.sigpicPlease don't laugh, this is one of my first attempts at a banner.

Great episode, a nice introduction to one of the best bad guys on SG-1. As a Daniel Freak, I was sad he couldn't be in more, but there's nothing you can do when an unexpected medical emerency pops up while you are filming! I thought it brilliant how they wrote him out.
Anyway, as I said, the Replicators were cool, the ship crashing was neat, and everyone had some really great and heroic moments. Liked the quick thinking on SG-1's part in beaming up the Gate!

First insight into the Asgard enemy and a real look at the Asgard
Good episode
I think we willl be seeing more of them
Spoilers for Season 5, 6 and 8, Ark Of Truth and Stargate Atlantis!!!
Spoiler:In lots of Seasons, especially Season 8 and we even get them in Ark Of Truth.
In Season 5 we see them take over Apophis ship but SG1 stop them from going to the Milky Way Galaxy and then we see them with Reese ( Episode = Menace ), the apparent creator of the Replicators and she tries to get out of Earth by over running the base with Replicators. She is eventually shot by Jack O Neil because he thinks she is losing control of them, even though she says shes not. The Replicators then fall to pieces and Daniel believes they have lost the only way of destroying the Replicators.
Then in Season 6 ( Episode = Unnatural Selection ) SG1 are called in to activate a time dilation device to trap the Replicators on a planet. We meet humanoid Replicators and Fifth and eventually Carter persuades Fifth to help them on the condition they take him with them. They cant have this so SG1 trick him by setting the timer to three minutes, not five like they promised him. This is probably why he captures Carter in Season 8 and makes a humanoid Replicator in her image.
They are a bloody nuisance in Season 8 with First and Replicarter, wont go into much detail, but we finally destroy them in Dakara with that weapon but not before Replicarter kills Daniel.
In The Ark Of Truth the IOA man makes them on the Odyssey using the Asgard Core and they nearly destroy SG1 because they alert the Ori to where they are and 4 Ori motherships start trying to destroy them but Sam manages to stop the Replicators just in time and Mitchell gets beaten up by the IOA man thats been overrun by Replicators.
We also see them in Atlantis in a new form and they cause a heck of a nuisance to the Atlantis team till they are finally destroyed in Be All My Sins Remember'd but we still dont know if they were all destroyed. Season 5 tells us they are not.

One of the best season finales of all time. The galaxy gets a lot bigger by adding this parasitic enemy that threatens the Asgard. I think the writers were amazingly original with the idea surrounding the Replicators. Essentially this enemy is so high-tech that they could only be defeated by a considerably primitive society.
Spoiler:It was a shame that even though we were able to defeat the Replicators we couldn't save the Asgard.sigpic

This is really a turning point for the series.
The Replicators are introduced, the SGC loses the Alpha Gate, and Thor's ship is destroyed. Great season finale.sigpic

And Walter said it was going to hit off the coast of california, so why was a Russian sub in US waters? The sub picked up that replicator, so it must have been off the coast of california.
