At the beginning Jack is very Prison Savvy and so on - but he doesn't comment that the Queen Bee in a prison is likely to be a very long term prisoner (ie. have been sent down for something quite heinous) and also likely to be the one most able to scare and hurt the others.
It's later established (in "A Matter of Time", I believe) that he was incarcerated in Iraq (and I'm assuming that's the prison experience he was referring to in this episode). I think it's unlikely that O'Neill ever met anyone like Linnea in Iraq, and I don't think this episode necessarily establishes that she was a long time occupant of the prison.
At any rate, this was a great show. I wish the payoff had been better than "Past and Present", though.

I don't think it would be that hard to at least think that she might be in prison because she did something wrong. And, I think her being in charge kind of suggested that she had been there long enough to gain the prisoners respect (or fear)
I'm a girl! A girly girly girl!
Okay, you got me. I can't accept change. This message may look like it was typed on a computer and posted on the internet, but it is actually cave drawings delivered by smoke signals.

The judiciary body on the planet was quite harsh, sending SG-1 to prison for no reason whatsoever and sending the blind dude off to a life sentence for stealing a bit of food. I'm sure there were many exiled to the prison planet for minor crimes.

The blind dude feared her the moment he saw her because he recognized her as the "Destroyer of Worlds". I assume that most of other prisoners would have a similar reaction as soon as they saw her (or heard about her crimes from those who had firsthand knowledge).

Yeah, but I think it's silly to assume that just because you're imprisoned unjustly means that everyone is. You should at least consider the possibility that someone there belonged there.

Which should have clued SG1 in that something wasn't quite kosher about Linnea. But, I was talking about how they could know that Linnea was a long time occupant of Hadante. They had assessed that Linnea commanded respect (fear) from the long term prisoners. And, SG1 didn't know that she was the Destroyer of Worlds, so they couldn't think that was the reason for the fear. All they knew at that point was even the big smelly guy (who's name I can't remember) deferred to her. You enter a prison, with no knowledge of anyone, and see this goon listen to this older, supposedly well mannered, nice lady, it stands to reason that the lady earned a place of authority. And that takes time, or violence, which Linnea wasn't overt about.

True, but Linnea was such a kindly old woman, it seems to me like she'd be the least likely suspect for a criminal mastermind.
You know, I figured out why Tim Allen was so destructive as his character Tim the Tool Man Taylor on his TV show 'Home Improvement'. His mother was Linea, the destroyer of worlds!
Yes, I really do look like (a younger) Daniel. Don't believe me? Look for yourself.

I wanna know more about the aliens who imprisoned them.
I'm watching this episode on DVD right now and I've just noticed something....
If you listen to Linea's voice it sounds weird, like its distorted or something. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just going crazy? Well, even more so than usual
