I thought it was a bit of a goof when Mitchell and Landry were running around the forest in camo gear while there were dozens of other hunters pumped up on adrenaline looking to shoot anything that moved.

Landry used "meters" in this episode. The cast is randomly using meters sometimes for some reason, even though they're supposedly American.

I think they were too busy with worring about the beast to worry about vests.

As far as I know, the US military is making the switch to the metric system. I'd expect Carter at least to be using them, since she is a scientist.

That is common in the military. The military uses metric most of the time, especially in dealing with distances.
