True that...talk about weird love thing going on...your sworn enemy and all...like all those HP/Snape fics out there...only ^ that one is confirmed by JKR. Still shocks me, I never saw that coming!
Spoiler:
I think JKR was just pulling that one outta her mik'ta....there was no basis for it in any of the books.....not to mention YUCK!!!!

Spoiler:
Oh, I agree...no basis...but she's the creator. She does what she wants...Dumbledore is my fave after the Trio...just never, ever saw this one coming...
to me it was always obvious that ron/hermione were going to end up together.... just obvious!
I tend to agree with the whining - Hermoine is way too mature and intelligent to end up with such a whiny little child. I saw the signs coming from early in the books, but prayed that JKR wouldn't pull something so pathetic. I did like her with Krum - he was so loopy over her, it was sweet. If Hermoine wasn't going to be with Harry, I could only see the three with mates outside of their circle. Their friendship is too valuable to have romance interfere. Hermoine, maybe with an upper classman like Wood - someone on her intellectual level. Harry is okay with Ginny, but she wouldn't be my first choice, and Ron . . . well, Ron shouldn't be with anybody until he grows up and stops being such a baby!
As for XF and SG, both shows should have ended, IMO, when the leading man left. SG may have been an ensemble cast, but it was Jack that held the team together. Without him, it was a pale, sad comparison to what it once was. And equally irritating is the dumbing-down of the female lead on both shows once the leading male - Mulder and Jack - left. Scully and Sam were probably the two most intelligent female characters on TV, who became brainless wonders later in the series.
I heard one of TPTB on a commentary say once how wonderful Chris Carter is/was. I guess that's part of the reason why we seem to be seeing history repeating itself with the two shows. And seeing as CC destroyed his own creation, it frightens me a bit that TPTB at SG would emulate him.
Sorry, all just MO.

SG1 needs it's Fifth Man - Why should we settle for less? Bring back Jonas Quinn!
Jack O'Neill would die for any member of his team. But there's only one he'd live for: Samantha Carter.

I can agree that when Mulder left Scully kinda...yeah...but Sam, I never saw her dumbed down. More like...wallpapered. I thought Sam held her own quite well.
