I keep my personal life personal at work, and told you guys before, don't have a romantic bone in my body.... she almost fell outta her chair.
She wanted to read one of the stories, but I shut the site down before she could link it...laugh.....Heard from one of my collegues that she's gonna watch some stargate then she's gonna try and find the site again...laugh....

So, we're talkin Hathor...
My favorite part in Hathor is when checks out 's tummy....You can tell it's a UST moment..... Jack with his shirt open anytime...just sorta ....ahhhhh
Lesleyp, we talked about this
Lesleyp: oh ya, sorry.. but we're talkin the Hathor ep
Yes, particulary good year for tummy
I told yas...it was the crunches...
Off the Hathor topic, ok I've been doing a season 9 Marathon this week. Up to crusade now. Is it just me or has Sam's character lost depth? It's like she's super brain, super soldier, and no longer a woman...It's like two dimensional now. At least that's how I found it. 1-8 Sam was someone a normal woman could relate to. We're smart, we're strong, but we're also human, with feelings. Finding that lacked severely in season 9.
Now haven't seen alot of 10 yet because it starts in Canada in November, but tell me they've improved her character....please...someone....Sig. made by RepliCarterje just for meGet RDA on Canada's Walk of Fame: Click this link to find out how

Maybe it's me, but I found Sam to be in many ways more female in Season 9. I think she's integrated the aspects of her personality, the constant fragmentation of which I believe was a key in Grace, and is no longer either a soldier, scientist, or woman but is now comfortable in her own skin and able to be all three at once. We only see her off duty and out of uniform for about 5 minutes in the entire season, so I think that may make her seem less normal. Examples:
Spoiler:her strength while still seeming, IMHO, female in Off the Grid when they're tied up. Her 'cuteness' in describing the Kawoosh and what she'd done in Camelot, similarly, her seemingly very female teasing of Cameron and later interactions with Daniel in Arthur's Mantle, her awkwardness with two old boyfriends in 4th Horseman and Ripple Effect, her desire not to come back to the SGC in order to pursue other aspects of her life in Beachhead...
Now, granted, a lot of this is probably my interpretation since I really do believe she is with Jack and so her personal life is balancing her career now, and she's not having to fulfill herself personally anymore with what she accomplishes professionally. She also, I think, never really felt comfortable with her femininity before. After all, if Jack, the man she loved, and her father couldn't accept her as a woman but required her to be soldier and scientist first, then wasn't that where she would perceive her value lay? In Threads (I told you!), she realizes Jacob and Jack really do value the woman and her happiness first, and I think that helped her accept herself and all her facets.
Classic example of her not accepting her femininity. In Tin Man, when the alien android guy describes her as being female, she turns to Jack and says, complaining, "Colonel!" as if she were upset he noticed she wasn't just one of the guys...
EDIT: I have to say her thing with was probably a symptom of her fragmentation, too, since with him she could usually just be the 'girl' and he didn't really demand anything at all from her as a soldier or a scientist. Jack demands and values all three. Which may make him the pefect manLast edited by JenniferJF; 21 October 2006, 03:37 PM.
