When she gets dizzy he goes to her immediately and again continues to hold on to her. He’s clearly worried about her and isn’t going to let her do anything that might put her at greater risk even if means clearly disappointing her by not letting her do the EVA.

Don’t you just love the way Jack looks at Sam as she lines up her shot? It seems like he just can’t help reaching out to her to show his pride and affection. It’s just all over his face. And so different from his dismissive pat on her shoulder from their first mission.

Yeah, he’s thinking about touching her and not just as a hologram. Notice the way they look at each other as he places his hand in a rather compromising location.

Jack holds on to Sam as they are going under and when they are coming back up. He doesn’t let her go.

As Sam is trying to bring up the force shield and open the bay doors, Jack pats her on the shoulder three separate times to encourage her. And perhaps after their most recent harrowing experience has affected him on a subconscious level and he feels a need to be close to her if things go catastrophically wrong.

There is plenty of room from them to stand apart and still be seen in the frame, but they are right up against one another and leaning into each other. Here they are both literally and figuratively supporting one another. Later as they come into conflict over the Tok’ra a noticeable physical distance emerges between them, which we don’t see here.

Not surprisingly, Jack is seriously concerned when Sam is return from the cell after some time in Nirti’s fun machine and doesn’t do as much to hide it as he normally does.

This is a rare moment when Sam lets herself go and leans on to Jack without any specific invitation. Her action clearly has Jack worried. The action is so similar to the way Thera casually placed her head on Jonah’s shoulder. Perhaps Sam was thinking of that time of closeness and openness as she reaches out to Jack in what she considers her last moments.

It’s not often we see Sam as the damsel in distress being carried away by her shining knight, but here Jack is most certainly in rescue mode.

Jack is obviously relieved as he helps a healthy Sam off the machine, but he is still careful of her, wanting to hold on. But you can see the effect of having Sam restored to herself because shortly thereafter he is positively buoyant.

A moment of light hearted fun between Sam and Jack that leaves them both smiling. It’s sweet how just a simple touch in this instance can convey so much fondness.

Sam is the first one in to Jack’s bedroom and the only one who touches him and asks if he’s alright. Not surprisingly, when he opens his eyes to see her standing before him, he does look at her for quite a while before noticing the others.

In the observation room, Sam keeps leaning into Jack. She practically has her side plastered up against his arm. They are recovering from a blackout so she may still be a little unsteady, and both are concerned about Daniel; so there be an unconscious seeking of comfort.

Jack pats Sam’s shoulder and then kind of rubs it a little. He’s looking around like his mind has moved on but his hand hasn’t. Notice how it lingers. Then as he leaves he touches her again. He knows Teal’c and Sam have an understanding and he’s maybe feeling a little excluded. He seems reluctant to lose this small amount of comfortable intimacy he and Sam have in this moment.

Sam moves in and stands with Jack up against her side. Protection from Felger? Or maybe she just really likes it there.
