The original team! Although I don't mind Jonas Quinn, either.


2. What is your favorite season of the show/time in Sam and Jack's relationship when it comes to reading fic?


Season 3/4 or 7/8, I think. Lots of ship and angst there! However, I also like a different take on seasons 9/10 with Sam and Jack trying to get together/make their relationship work with their different postings and such. Just not the actual season 9/10 we see in the show!

3. Do you prefer unresolved sexual tension (UST) or established relationship?

UST to getting together, definitely.


4. Would you like a romantic story, something more adventure-style (mission-orientated) or a combination of both?

No preference, as long as there is ship (and angst, please)!


5. Do you want the whole team involved, just Sam/Jack or everyone but with the focus on S/J?

Just Sam/Jack or everyone with the ship playing a central role. Not just a team fic with some ship.

[B]1. What is the best example of your preferred residence (fluff clouds/angst cavern/gutter)?

Sam and Jack having to work to be together, I enjoy fics where they are stuck off world and end up getting together but it feels OOC. If they've worked through something tough and come out the other end in a position to pursue a relationship, then that feels in character for me.

2. Regardless of your preference, what do you consider to be a fluffy moment?

A moment where they are allowed to show their emotions or provide comfort for the other. Obviously a kiss is fluffy but a warm cuddle is just as fluffy if that is what is appropriate in the situation. In cannon, the hugs were fluffy because they were as close as they could get and their way of showing affection.

3. Regardless of your preference, what do you consider to be an angsty moment?

One of them trapped on another planet/in a life threatening situation - Sam fighting to continue the search for Jack in Paradise Lost, Jack stuck on Edora, Sam held captive by the scientist, the entity.

4. Regardless of your preference, what do you consider to be a gutter moment?

Anything going further that Eek and Sam in Chimera. A fic I read included lots of those moments, it was integral to the story though (The Torment of Tantalus) and was not voyeuristic or 24 chapters of porn either. At the same time comments alluding to that sort of activity are gutterish, but good gutterish.

5. What is something that Sam or Jack have said (either in an episode or in fic) that describes their relationship to you?

Hmmm, tricky. I really can't think of anything. Sam's comment to her hallucination of Jack about him being a safe bet, whilst she's focused on something she can't have, she is in no danger of getting hurt by anyone else, intrigues me. I interpret that as her misinterpreting her subconscious. She's hurting because she can't have him, having a relationship with someone else could end up with hurt of a different sort. She isn't accepting of how she truly feels even to herself. She's scared of her emotions, what they could mean to her, to Jack and to their careers. She's almost trying to convince herself its not real, a crush or something equally meaningless. That comment says to mean their relationship is all about fear, denial and misdirection. Admitting it is unacceptable, the zat'arc test must haunt them.

Winter

7. What is more important – special celebrations or everyday moments?

Both are equally important. Special celebrations get family and friends together, united in celebrating an event or occasion. Everyday moments

8. Do you like Sam/Jack with team interaction or more on their own?

I like both in equal amounts, the moments alone are always insightful but the team interaction and responses of Teal'c and Daniel give things a whole different light. The levels of confidence each team member has with the others varies individually and it becomes a great platform to explore the relationships and dynamic.

I picture Sam in relaxed uniform, the pants and tees she wore in Atlantis. Jack I tend to picture in dress blues or BDU's.

2. What is your favorite season of the show/time in Sam and Jack's relationship when it comes to reading fic?

7/8 and post season 8/9/10. I enjoy the fics with missions towards the end of Jack's being in charge of SG1 but I also enjoy the journey of in-character post SG1 UST to relationship. I do not like s1-6 fics that deviate from cannon at all, for me the relationship is not established enough and the UST not fully developed, to create a rich enough platform to work from.


3. Do you prefer unresolved sexual tension (UST) or established relationship?

Neither, the journey from UST to a relationship. UST with a hint of fluff, e.g. a hug or moment of acceptance and no relationship works for me too - specifically if it is set in earlier seasons.

Adventure style

The team, especially in a mission. No Janet unless it is in cannon and set pre Heroes.

Uhm...it doesn't really matter if the story is well written.

The focus of the story must be S/J. I can have others too but in a secondary place.
I don't like team fics without S/J romance or fics where other ships are added in the mix.

Angst! I also like some fluffy vids where there are a lot looks between them and such, but I prefer angst.

Slow, I'm not a big fan of those loud pop songs for fan vids.

You mean dance/trance music or just popular (pop/hiphop/R&B) songs that are often played in clubs? Like I said in my previous reply, I prefer the slower songs.

Canon mostly but there's only so much material to work with, so AUs are welcome as well! As long as it's done well.

I think I would prefer one about their relationship in general, since the specific moments are in episodes as well. By using different moments it feels more like a story (or movie) being told.

What holiday song reminds you of S/J?

I'm sorry to say nothing comes to mind. I'm not too familiar with (English) holiday songs and I hardly ever associate songs in general with S/J.
