As it was a lovely day we went walking down the towpath at the river, but due to excess sunniness confusing us as to the lateness of the day/how full the river must be after all this rain we were astounded to come back later and find that we were going to have to wade for quite a few metres back onto the higher bits of the pavement because the path was flooded. Lucky I was in sandals and a skirt- less fuss about taking stuff off and no rolling up of trousers. Just hitched up my skirts and went for it. I believe my friend took pictures as it was more than a little funny

My mum's taking the call that I think is telling her that her grandmother had died. I'm not sure, but I have a horrific feeling that nanny's gone. And poor mum at the same time is having to ask about what she should get my cousin for her eighteenth. Poor, poor mum. The sad smilie doesn't do it justice and I'm not going to use it.

Its cleaner than people think it is, particular once you get into Greater London. I wouldn't want to swim in it (not a nice thought ) but it's clean enough to wade through about a foot of it when you're treading on cobbles (because we were walking where the path was).

Although I'm in the not so great situation of not grieving much myself (I was fond of her, but I barely saw her) but I was upset yesterday because my mother was upset. Its strange because you're hurting, but not in the way that you can really expect or get sympathy for. And general sadness and anger due to the relatives who live local to Nanny, as opposed to a couple of hundred miles away, apparently not caring two hoots about an elderly lady in a coma about to die. I'll stop there because its just too enraging to think about.

Anyhow, moving onto better things. Expect picspamming in a moment
