Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Romance, Characters: Sam, Daniel, Teal'c, O'Neill, Martouf/Lantash, Jacob/Selmak, others, SG-1 and a group of Tok'ra goes on an archaeological expedition to a planet with Furling ruins. The population know nothing about the Furlings, nor are they interested in them or their ruins. However, when a seismic tremor causes a a cave-in and one of SG-1's own are killed, the locals disclose their secret. What happens then is unexpected, to say the least. I really like Delek. He's awesome. All of the Tok'ra are just so special. I don't blame them for not being so trusting of others. Sometimes that can spell trouble.
You get close to someone, tell them your secrets, and expect them to keep it, and they don't, betraying your friendship and breaking your trust. In the case of the Tok'ra, a situation like that could very well cost them their lives.

I like all the Tok'ra also! And I agree that it is not strange they are not trusting - especially the way they are fighting the Goa'uld, they HAVE to be paranoid! I blame the SGC for not understanding that not everyone fight exactly the same way, and it is not wrong just because it is different.

Various people (me in particular) have posted fic links in the Tok'ra and Goa'uld fanfic recs thread

though many of the earlier posts now have dead links - I will eventually go through them and repost working links where possible.

Symbiotica is a fanfic archive exclusively for Tok'ra fanfics. They had MAJOR host-problems about a year ago and were offline for almost half a year, I think. They got a new host, eventually, and people have slowly started to repost. That is a pretty good place for Tok'ra fics, though those that have reposted currently mostly write Sam/Martouf/Lantash. There is some Malek fics and some general gen fics, though (look for Tok'ra Vignettes, for example)

Some really good (mostly, unless otherwise said) gen Tok'ra fics:

• The Compromised Trilogy by MerryK. Mostly Gen AU fic about Jolinar surviving. (Slight Sam/Jolinar/Martouf/Lantash subtext)
• Tok'ra Allegiance by Lizardbeth Johnson. The episode 'Allegiance' seen from the Tok'ra (Malek and his host's) POV.
• Brothers in Arms by BuckeyeBelle. Jack and Malek have been imprisoned by Osiris and must help each other escape.
• Birth of a Rebellion by Kenshul. Thousands of years ago the Goa'uld were much like they are today, save for one. That Goa'uld would travel down a path that would shake the balance of power among the System Lords and ultimately lead to a rebellion from within...
• My Heart Shall Pass Unto Yours by Pagan Twylight. Malek's host is dying. He doesn't want Malek to die with him but to find a new host. They come across a young man chained in a room. Will he accept a symbiote?
• Together to the End by Minion Of Sekhmet. Remember Khonsu, the Tok’ra SG1 is supposedly captured by in the Season Six episode “The Other Guys?” What was he thinking when he was killed by Herak, his First Prime? What was his host thinking? This fic attempts to give the him a little more depth.
• Take With You My Love - the Blending of Lantash&Martouf by Pagan Twylight. This story takes place one hundred plus years in the past. Lantash and Justin, his host, meet Martouf, and as events unfold we learn how Lantash and Martouf became a blended pair.
• Symbiosis by Yvi. An AU of "In the Line of Duty" in which Jolinar was only hurt, not killed and Sam and Jolinar flee the base to not get into the hands of the NID. Mild Jolinar/Sam/Martouf/Lantash subtext.
• Red Queen The Tok'ra enlist SG1's help to stop Baal taking humans with special powers, hok'taur, for his new queen. But what they find could mean the destruction of the goa'uld and the salvation of the Tok'ra. Chars Malek, Jacob, Anise, Delek, SG1, OFC, Bratac Some Delek/OFC/Malek PG-13.
• Tok'ra Vignettes This is a collection of short stories. The only thing they have in common is a focus on the Tok'ra. Note that most are a bit more fluffy than my normal fics. See inside for chapter summaries. Ratings G to PG. Some are ship, most are gen.
• Early Beginnings Originally there were no Tok'ra, and all symbiotes were Goa'uld. Why did some of them change and how did this change come to be? Main characters: Egeria and Jolinar. Not femslash. PG-13
• The Petri Dish The last surviving members of SGC, as well as three Tok'ra, and a few Jaffa flee the advancing Ori forces. This is the story of their experiences. Takes place around SGA season 4, before the Ark of Truth. PG-13
• Surprise! Archaeologists digging in the UK uncover items apparently of Egyptian origin. Not knowing about the Stargate-project, they are baffled. The leader knows of Dr. Jackson's interest in 'cross-cultural pollination' and contacts him. PG-13
• Alive When Martouf and Lantash return from a short mission, they learn their mates have been found, having escaped from the inescapable prison, Netu. Lantash's POV. Rosha/Jolinar/Martouf/Lantash PG-13
• Solitude No More SG-1 is captured by an unusual Goa'uld and are soon on the run together with her. Will they escape and ally with her and others of her kind, or will they all be killed? Mostly Gen, but some Rosha/Jolinar/Martouf/Lantash and Sam/Jolinar/Martouf/Lantash. AU PG-13
• Rascals The Tok'ra and the Tau'ri go on a joint archaeological mission. What happens when Daniel activates an alien device? Can the effects be undone? Kidfic. Meant as Advent Calendar. Somewhat cracky and OOC now and then. Rated PG-13 to be safe, but is likely lower.
• The Alternative Factor What would have happened if SG-1 was too late to save Earth from Anubis? With Earth lost, they go to an alternate reality - but all is not exactly as expected. Mostly gen/SG-1 Team, but some ship at the end. Sam/Jolinar/Martouf/Lantash PG-13
• Ophiucus Rising Critically injured during the Battle of Antarctica, Cameron Mitchell faces spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Sam Carter, his oldest friend and host to Jolinar of Malkshur, gives him another choice: become a Tok'ra host. He takes a chance and accepts. Now he must adapt to sharing his body with another person, even while trying to make a place for himself at Stargate Command. PG-13
