You're probably right, and it was just ordinary (well, strong since the symbiote can fix most things) poison. I forgot that the sarcophagus would likely be days away.

And yes, I agree the sarcophagus would most likely not work more than a day after, at most - if that. Several hours, sure, but not much more than that.

I don't know what Jacob hints at them using, but some kind of small bomb would make sense - perhaps a zat'nik'tel can be set to overload, like a phaser in Star Trek? And whatever it is they use would be taken from them if they are caught, of course, and just killing themselves normally (doing whatever a symbiote can do to kill host + self) would not work when their captor has a sarcophagus, as you say.

So... I was watching Tok'ra pt II recently (looking for clips for my Martouf video... wow it's hard to find clips of him laughing or smiling! well in that episode anyway since he was so sad about losing Jolinar and Rosha...)

and I was wondering, at the end, Daniel said maybe the would be able to find potential hosts from Earth like Jacob Carter... but I dunno who they could offer except other friends and family of people who are cleared to know about the Stargate... how would they be able to find people on Earth who would be good candidates (I mean... don't want some jerk joining with a Tok'ra, might be a bad influence on the poor symbiont)... they can't go around announcing a cure for cancer and AIDS as long as they don't mind giving up their lives on Earth and only seeing their families occasionally and even then they can't tell them a thing?

What do you think? do you think there were other Jacob Carters? family and friends of people from the stargate program but that's about it?

To be honest, I think they didn't even try to find hosts for the Tok'ra! Earth seems like kind of a bad ally in this manner as well

Anyway, there are many people who are/can be sworn to secrecy. I think I heard somewhere that there are more than 800000 people with top secret clearence in the US - and then there are the SGC allies in other countries. You also have plenty of wounded/sick soldiers - I'm guessing SGC alone generates quite a few with their dangerous mission and such. Do they have a Tok'ra-register (like a donor-register) that the people at SGC can sign up for? Then there are friends and family of everyone working at the SGC (civilians as well as military) - I'm guessing they could easily find at least a hundred every year this way - how many hosts do the Tok'ra need each year?
What about doing like the idea Jalnor? had for his story? About making some kind of recruitment without letting people know what they recruited for? Answering lots of questions and then picking those that sounded good and like they were interested. Let them sign a non-disclosure agreement and ask them!

Also, SG-1 may note be typical - perhaps many other teams have people who are interested in volunteering? Maybe after doing some kind of exchange program?

I know I would volunteer immediately, and I know of many others who would as well!

There's an advent calendar with a Stargate/Tok'ra theme - and Yosuuf/Garshaw and Martouf/Lantash plays a part in it! (Apparently also later Freya/Anise from the char-list, but I haven't found her mentioned yet). I found it in the tokrafans group! The direct link to the calendar is here: December 1st. The other days will be posted in the same journal presumedly

She's apparently away from her internet until then, so that's why.

I need to find a stargate clip that has a gravestone, maybe... and the Tok'ra don't have a symbol, do they? I'm thinking a big Goa'uld symbol might do... the only one I can think of is Ba'al had a big symbol behind Zarin? hmmm... I told my sister I'd help her with a deadline tonight but tomorrow I'll get back to work on the vid.

Aww, they're cute! Yes, I think it's for that story. Would fit with the characters

About the gravestone...the Tok'ra don't bury their dead - they vaporize them in an unstable wormhole (on a platform when the Stargate flushes - probably to avoid the Goa'uld grabbing the dead and reviving them and torturing them (or taking DNA from the symbiote and cloning them - with the genetic memory that should give a person with all the memories! Ready for torture!)

Of course, I don't even know it is the grave of a Tok'ra you need it for...

The Tok'ra don't have a symbol we've seen. I think they have one on http://www.tokraresistance.com/phpBB2/ - the cirkel in the left corner. But I more than suspect that is something they've made themselves?

Hi - anyone that know me here and that I have previously emailed, I have lost access to my gmail account since someone apparently hacked my password and accessed it and did something that caused gmail to block login to it unless I can prove it is my account.

I have attempted to do so, by filling out two forms (with very few possible things to fill in - and no open field for extra other info).

Since I am unable to convince them (I can't remember the exact month/date I started using gmail after 2-3 years and I don't have the verification code on another email account so I can't access it, etc.) and someone has stolen my phone, so I can't even have them send me an activation sms.

I have lost ALL my fanfic I have written/was writing since it was on google docs, EVERYONES email addresses, ALL maio correspondance. So, if you know me, pm me and I will send you my new mailaddress and I will try and recreate my addressbooks and stuff.

Remember...either DON'T use gmail or make sure to keep the verification code you get at signup in a different place from you mailbox - and write down somewhere the exact date you start using your mail as well as the mailaddresses of people you usually mail. Otherwise, you can suffer the same as me - someone hack your account, gmail closes it for login => you have no more access and can't get it again! *snif*
