Hi guys! Thanks for the ideas - I'm definitively going to dress up as Osiris! I already have white pants and a white shirt, so I just need a piece some sort of large translucent white fabric. I'm thinking that I can maybe make something that looks like the zatarc weapon (if that's what it is) that Osiris uses in the ep where Pete is surveilling Sam. Anyone know if there is a pic of it somewhere? I'm in a bit of a hurry - the party is Saturday

There was a link farther up to details on a prop someone was able to buy... I'll get Googling tomorrow to see what interesting stuff I turn up - haven't searched for hand devices recently.

Is that the same weapon Osiris uses? I can't read the text as it is in German, I think ?

It doesn't say anything about Osiris, but it is the same device... though it does appear to come in the two styles rendered in the first link. I'd say pick one to build from whatever

I agree - it seems to be the same weapon. Snotr, I don't know if you have already made something or have the time to, as you said the party was going to be today. Not sure what time it is where you live - it's 10 PM here

Anyway, if I was in a hurry I'd make something out of cardboard and spraypaint it or just paint it with whatever - maybe do some smudged dots in another colour for patina.

It went well I did get something zatarc-weapon-like made out of cardboard. I spray-painted it with the only colors paint I could get at that time at the local dollar store - gold and matte black. It looked a little funny, but in the half-darkness of most of the party it looked cool. The wig was a little floppy, but it mostly stayed in shape I used some white transparent drapes I found at a second hand store, so my costume wasn't even expensive and looked (sort-of) like what Osiris wears in the scene in Egypt.

Has anyone been watching Universe? Do they have Tok'ra in it now? *hopes* There have been 3-4 episodes, right? It will probably be a while before it is available here. Also, I don't think I will be watching it unless there are Tok'ra or Goa'uld in it.

Umh, I've been watching it since it came out Skadi. But I haven't seen any Tok'Ra or Goa'uld in the series.
I recommend giving it a go anyway. Season 1 rocked.

Thanks, Tiger, but - it'll probably not be on TV here for the next couple of years, if ever (Denmark isn't real strong on sci-fi in general - one of the reasons I don't watch TV, I stick to DVDs - the other being that I hate any and all kinds of commercials with a passion, so I can only watch the state channel anyway).
So, I will need to buy it on DVD when it comes out, imported from the US probably, or UK. It will be expensive that way, meaning I don't want to invest in it unless there is something in it I know I will like. Hence - unless there are Tok'ra or Goa'uld I will not bother It was really the only part of Stargate I ever really liked.
I (like several others I know on this thread) stopped watching SGA as well - I found it to be disappointing and not "real" Stargate (IMHO, anyway).
