i swear if they dont hook up at the end of one of the movies its gunna ruin the entire series for me. look im a huge fan i love it so so much but im very confused right now....i've heard rumors that daniel and sam are going to atlantis at the emd of sg1? tru or false?
also is this really REALLY the end of sg1? i cried wen some one told me that but im not willing to belive it just yet.

From the profound PengYn...one of my favorite S/J "essays" of recent months...

I know I'm possibly beyond late catching the reply train - summer sun is just far too appealing - but I do think that's rather a matter of perspective. Okay yes, onscreen no one character has come out and said 'yeah Sam and Jack are a couple' and I understand and definitely respect that many shippers need those exact words, and *cross fingers* some visual kazaam to go along with it, in order to be convinced. But I struggle with the idea that "nothing we've seen has confirmed that they are together". I am a shipper who has no doubts about the status of their relationship, and it isn't because I live in a land of imaginary pretense and decided to make up my own conclusions. I could quite easily write a small essay with an overwhelming amount of evidence to suggest that they are, indeed, together - and this is without bringing in episode commentaries and anecdotes from number one shipper Joe Mallozzi.

I doubt very much that anyone wants me to actually do that because, understandably, most folks don't want subtle (and certainly don't want me to prattle on), they want the kazaam and with that kind of chemistry who can blame anyone from wanting it visually. I would love to see it, but I am of the sort who doesn't need to see it to believe it. Not just because I want to.. but because I've been given reasons to believe so. But art is subjective, and things that are important to me might not be as important to another. I just can't say that there is "nothing" or that nothing has happened in the interim. Jack is not a liar, when he said always he meant it. In that moment, I understood that from then on everything between them was okay, that their feelings were okay, and that from then on they were in every sense of the word.. committed. The two people who so comfortably and so closely touching leaned over the desk in Sam's lab in The Shroud, were not the same two people who stood divided only by Jack's office desk yet with tension so thick and feelings run amok, that comfortability in each others presence was all but impossible.

If nothing had been resolved between them - and yes I mean offscreen which, I agree, does suck - then their closeness and comfortability in The Shroud makes no sense. So I can't accept "nothing", because I see a very definite "something". And like everyone else I don't have a full puzzle yet, but I have just enough of the pieces to make it out, I'm just waiting for the centerpiece.

Welcome! And your first post is on the Valenship 2008 thread - how cool is that! Way!

Yes the series SG-1 has concluded after 10 seasons, but 2 movies are in the pipe, the first, Ark of Truth, will be out in March. Only Sam made the leap to Atlantis, but Daniel and Teal'c will visit.

Just sayin', stick around, do! Best place in the Milky Way Galaxy to feel the Sam/Jack love.
