I actually managed to watch this today. Thanks for the heads up! What's funny is that even though AT has a teeny tiny part (talk about paying your dues) the first thing the "haunted" kid says after she sees an ethereal AT is: "She's an angel!"

I think it had to do with the lighting more than the actress. I was struck by how they managed to so consistently blur her features.

Well, yeah, that's what they'd want you think. But we all know the truth.

I'm joking. For two thirds of the movie I wasn't sure that was actually her. But she's credited as "Gina/Angel", so that was a strong clue. I think she woulda been better as the lead mom. But hey, 20/20 hindsight, huh? Gawd, I'm such a dork.

I saw the movie ages ago before I came to GW ( I think ) and I kept thinking...boy she seems familiar, I didn't realize it was her until we saw her in the flashback

Sam was one of the reasons I started watching SG-1, because I had a big crush on her. So it was mostly because of her looks, and not for her mind. But then I started watching when I was a bit older and appreciated her more as a character, and then became enthralled by her sciency talk and character personality. I did prefer her in later seasons, but she was adorable and so military in the first ones.

Isn't it amazing how much wiser we become with age?

I like Sam for different reasons in different seasons. Early Sam-I love her wonder at the Stargate and her enthusiasm. Later I like her maturity and ability to handle any situation.
