Hello all! I've been a lurker in this forum and especially this thread for almost 6 months now and today I finally caved and became a GW member. All of your conversations were too much fun not to want to get a little involved in.

I didn't start watching Stargate until Season 9 began, but Sam Carter quickly became my favorite character and I only loved her more after catching up on the previous 8 seasons. And everything I read or see about Amanda Tapping just confirms what an awesome person she is, definitely one of my favorite actresses now.

Anyhoo, just thought I'd drop in to say hello and to thank all of you for the many hours of fun all of your posts have given me. Cheers!

because of my once love affair with white mochas, i'm now a mocha frap lite or coffee frap lite with sugar free vanilla syrup girl (no whipped cream). white mocha and chai lattes are very sugary and weight gainyey, so... but i love them!

We have around 70 Starbuck stores about to close...I have no idea why...I do know that I love their mocha-cino's...even though I always get an upset tummy after I drink their coffee!!

In Melbourne there's a Starbucks on nearly every corner...and on the opposite side of that corner is a Hudson's store...Gloria Jeans is more popular in the shopping centers!

Hmmm I'm swaying towards a tea drinker....mostly cause I love tea over coffee Coffee gets me very anxious and STRESSED and makes me feel like I have a million deadlines due all of a sudden. Happy times!!. ANYWHO!

So yes, tea. Hmmm Chai perhaps? Or cookies and cream tea

Speaking of tea. I had a green tea the other day that tasted like wasabi.

Hi everyone !

I got my CONTINUUM dvd today yay i'm so excited i havent watched the movie yet but i've watched the special features all i can say so far WOW i so cant wait to watch it and i love the artic stuff i was watching it with my dad today on his lunch break he cant wait to see it yay!

Oh and today i watched ASCENSION i love this eps and i love seeing Sam and Orlin together he is one cute ancient, boy is Amanda lucky there is one bit that still gets me every time i watch it's the part is when Orlin does the sharing thing with Sam i got the feeling it was more than just showing his feelings for her .

I'm an Earl girl myself!!! But I do love my coffee.
Not so sure about the Chai though...and green is not my scene!!

I'm thinking that Amanda loves her coffee at the times when she needs it the most and maybe some tea...Earl Grey or English Breakfast...to unwind with...speaking of which...hubby has just returned so I'm off to have some tea!!

Now THAT'S S G - 1 !!!!!

Watched Continuum twice yesterday. And once with commentary. Can't wait to watch it again tonight Haven't seen all the special features yet.

Thoughts on the movie:

Spoiler:

1) OMG! I love this show. This movie is what I wish the last two seasons of SG1 and Atlantis could be and still hope for in the case of Atlantis. But, I'm afraid after an SG1 fix like this, Atlantis will pale even more in comparison. How can the shows be so much different when they are supposedly made by the same people?!?!?!?

2) The call backs to SG1 history were fantastic and I probably didn't even get half of them.

3) The actors were amazing! Where was Beau Bridges all the last two years? His scene in the hangar was simply amazing. Where was Claudia Black? Evilly good Cliff Simon was better than ever. And I don't mean just by being buff as h311 either. MS and AT were great and I even really liked BB for the first time. It was good to see RDA back too. Although Daniel seemed to be more snippy than I remember him, especially to President Hayes. Great to see DSD, Hammond is such a cool character. William Devane was even better than before.

4) The arctic shots were nice, but after so many years of being tricked by CGI, they almost didn't look real. Except for the submarine. Loved that they used the real sailors on the boat.

5) The F-15s stole the show and who can blame Brad Wright for playing one of the pilots . As many others have said it was great to see Sam flying. I just wish she could get to wear her wings. Don't pilots always get to wear their wings? Or is only that other branches of the service

7) Was I imagining things or was most everybody's life in the other timeline 'better' than the real timeline, except for Sam, Daniel and Cam. Maybe even Teal'c too. Jack had his son, Landry was still married. Hammond was a 3-star. That made Landry's speech even better.

8) Loved the interrogation montage. Have we ever seen anything like that on SG1 before? I don't remember anything. Maybe it was a nod to MS doing 24 at the time

9) Absolutely LOVED the leather flight jackets. The most cool garmet ever warn in the history of any military.

Things I would have liked to have seen:

1) Sam looking up her Dad during the year of down time. Maybe instead of Cam working on his car. Of all the scenes, Cam, his car, and the girl seemed out of place. I didn't get that reference at all.

2) With all of the other characters back, it would have been nice to see Teryl. Wouldn't it have been great to have her working on Daniel's leg.

3) Instead of President Hayes sending SG1 off to save the world with a 4-man Marine escort (as much as I love Marines ), wouldn't it have been cool to have an AF special forces 4-man team with Col. Jack O'Neill leading the way He could have saved them just as they were going through the gate with Teal'c and told them to 'Go through the gate'. Again.

4) I didn't quite understand where Cam gated back to on Earth at the end. Was the Giza gate already unearthed? Or did he go to the Antarctic or Russia?

5) Another reference I didn't quite catch was Ba'al's planet? Praxia? Where did that come from? Did I miss an explanation somewhere? I'll guess I'll have to watch it again to do some homework. Poor me

6) As for the command thing. The credits at the end are all wrong. I was too busy watch the movie to catch the beginning ones I don't really care at this point. The movie was so good. Sam is still the best leader in my book. And she did a lot of 'managing up', just like always. Maybe she'll command the 'moon base'. Is that a Stargate:Universe reference?

Mitchell went back in 1929, and the Giza gate was already uncovered in 1928. So I guess he came through there.

And I agree on the first part of your post. It felt like watching classic stargate again. I really missed it.
