Hi everyone here at Sam's a great character thread. I love looking for stargate fan videos and I found this Sam one some of you might enjoy. Sad but pretty cool.

That's interesting that you start with the eyes. I've never dared start there. Being multidextrous, I'll usually sketch in the outline of one side of the face or the other depending on the hand I'm using. After that the placement of the eyes, nose and mouth just seem to follow nicely.

Ooh and I know what you mean about smudging..I hate it myself and have done lots of experimenting with it, but I still have a long way to go yet.

Question, have you ever done any pen drawings? I think you'd do really well with it considering your level of talent. I've done a few myself and surprisingly they turned out pretty well. Shading with pen is really a whole other subject in itself too.

I got pretty adept at the smuge shading, but it just got boring for me.

I have done some ink, but mostly pointillism, which is a bit more forgiving. I use my eraser way too much to be comfortable with ink. I might try another pointillism piece for my portfolio.

Glad so many of you have liked the Sam video find. Thanks for all the green, that was sweet. I ususally hang out the the DV thread and we have just finished a month of episode reviews and are about to start a month of Fan Multimedia works. The first week is videos and we start tommorrow night at 12 midnight eastern time. As I look for my favorite Daniel and Vala Videos and I run across a really good Sam video I'll bring it on over here for everyone to see. Someone PM me if you every have a video day or week over here. I love Videos. After videos we are doing a week of fanfic. Nice to meet new people.. Thanks, Susan
