Ok a few posts back we were discussing different types of show scenarios the SG-1 teams could be in together with their same personalities and Sally mentioned Homeworld Security.
So in my boredom, I started playing with the idea and came up with an opening credit for the show. Instead of an Astrophysicists, she is a Forensics Specialist.
Okay I'm heading off to bed and the next few weeks will be very busy with end of the school year concerts so I will not be around much - but before I head out tonight thought I would post one last time - here is pic of Sam not in uniform for your enjoyment
*Great* pic, tsaxlady! Sam/AT looks happy! Great smiles!
I've been making myself go back and watch my less liked episodes... last night was Point of No Return. It still isn't one of my favorites, but I have to admit I loved this scene with Sam and Daniel.
Me too. This is one of my favorite daniel & Sam team work scenes. They do something similar, but not as good in the Season 8 episode
Spoiler:
where they get captured by the Trust
It would be great if some of the funny scenes the writers *will write* (sending them vibes) will be with Daniel & Sam. They probably can crack each other up.
Okay I haven't turned the computer off yet - I loved the Mustang as well - AT's own car that Sam has driven in other episodes in a great car but I love Mustang's - I've had a couple myslef (although I have never had a red one - I drive fast enough that I don't need the red to attract anyone - my last one was ice blue - custom color)
What I think is cool is that Sam got to drive it! So many times on TV (and in the movies), the guy drives the cool car while the 'girl' is eye candy in the passenger seat. I know that the character of Sam Carter has piloted jet air craft, but I still wouldn't have been surprised to see them have Daniel driving the car ('cuz he's the guy!). So - I just think it's so *great* that Sam/AT was driving! Put a great big smile on my face!
I think the compilation book is such an awesome idea! Though I'm not artistic or anything, so I doubt I'll be adding to it! Lol, I think Amanda will either love it, or think we're a group of obsessive fans and be very scared....or a mix of both! Hey, at least it shows we care!
Maybe it will go on the bookshelf... to be perused in later years as members of her family browse their photo albums. Maybe she can show it to her daughter when she's older
Edited to add the following once I read Chopingal's post (am still catching up on posts!)

Charlie, you just reminded me of a thought I had the other day (and since I think so rarely, it's worth mentioning) ...
Whatever Astro/Keeper puts together from all of us will be a labor of love, for sure, knowing how invested Astro is in this thread. However, if this booklet or portfolio is done well it really becomes something special that AT, herself, (or even her publicist) has probably not had time or thought about doing: it becomes a review, a snapshot, of her portrayal of Sam Carter.
This could become a scrapbook to show Olivia one day - this is what your mom did for a certain part of her acting career! I think we should dedicate the compilation to Olivia from her mom's fans. How lovely that she will one day get to read what many people thought of her mom - Amanda's influence on others and her professional ability in bringing Sam to life. This is just a thought, but it has been on my mind. One day, years from now, mom may want to share some of her legacy with her daughter ... and she'll have our little contribution to help her tell the story of "Sam and the Stargate".
Something quite innocent, a first post by Major Sally just admiring the "character of Sam", started an amazing thread. Then Major Sam gave us the idea for "Samanda" and we jumped on it and all kinds of fun things began to happen. Fans started to bring in bits of themselves (humor, great discussions, sarcasm, wit, originality, artwork/photo manips, screencaps and captions) ... and many kind words and compliments helped to bring out some gifts that people didn't even know they had!
But I see something even more ... many of us have noted that many internet threads sometimes take a nasty turn and dissolve into a great deal of noise. I think, just by writing about Sam/Amanda, we have managed to incorporate some of her own generous spirit and good will on to this board. She is a very fun-loving and kind person (by all accounts and observations). And I think that there's a lot of that here with the back-and-forth comments and teasing and exchanges that go on. It's wonderful to see and experience. User-friendly cyberspace!
So, I think that we are heading in the right direction by reviewing some of the past posts and extracting some of the unique "moments" of hilarity, discussion, debate, admiration, etc. which highlight just why we think Sam is such a great character! And, Astro, I'm willing to commit some time to this, behind the scenes with you, (now that our spring semesters are coming to an end).
Eloquently worded, Chopingal! And right along the lines of what I was thinking!
My technical problems have returned this time to my new computer - darn the thing.
I empathize, Coley.

I'm now rehooked to my old one - and - well - you could have knocked-me-down with just one look as 1speed's knobblies when I got on the forum via IE - so Gateworld must have been the problem all along.
Hmmm... very weird... sometimes, I really do think that there are gremlins in the computers

And officially many thanks to everyone who has helped in getting our little gift to Amanda at the Studios - you are all superb!! Hopefully it gave her a little lift to know that fans are waiting with baited breath for her brilliant portrayal of Sam Carter to return to the screen. Here's hoping the writers give her the storylines she deserves after the 110% of commitment she has given the show over the last 8 years, she certainly is an inspiration!
I must now leave for work of my own, tuning the lyre even as I jot down these few friendly words.
Sincerely,
Jester
Since we've added some new members lately (and because I seem to have early "senior moments" ) could we get a rundown of who the members of the royal court are?
Great point, Sky! And we've seen AT make a few "silk purses" in her time!
I remember in one of the commentaries AT was talking about how the music can help a lot. Sometimes as they're doing scenes they aren't sure if they will come off well and she said they sometimes say "the music will save it." I'd say that often the case is: "Amanda will save it."
