Hey I was seeing if there was any information out yet for Abby Lord and I found this.....I don't know if it is the "right" Abby Lord but here it is.
"The Abby Lord Story" a/k/a "Engaged to Kill"
- Abby Lord (Maria del Mar) is kidnapped and her husband Robert Lord (Joe Lando) has to pay off a million dollar ransom, which wipes them out financially. The female kidnapper is killed and the man gets away with the money.....and in the future, the Lords struggle to get by.
This movie will air on Lifetime TV Network Monday, April 24, 2006, at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Anyone that is better at searching than me please take the reins lol
Jan
This looks like the right movie, Jan. I believe AT plays a detective in this one. Thanks for posting this info. Now we know when it will air! It should be fun to see AT in a different role, although I don't think I could tire of Sam Carter ever. Sam keeps me watching SG-1.
Welcome Lizlove and Supernatural!! GW in general is a Sam friendly place. Enjoyed Blue Jello Metaphor, Supernatural---thanks for writing it!

Oh, you SO owe us Sky.
I enjoy it none the less
sigpic There are only two things to worry about: either you are well or you are sick. If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about: but if you are sick; there are two things for you to worry about: either you get well, or you die. If you get well, then there is nothing to worry about. If you die: then there are two things to worry about: either you go up or down. If you go up, then there is nothing to worry about. But if you go down, you will be so busy shaking hands with old friends you wont have time to worry.
Because no one did any research into the science of writing?
I'm guessing that if I were forced to explain it, I'd go for something like
Spoiler:
the Merlin device and the Crystal Skull alien device use gravitons for a control or functional limiter of some kind, whereas the alternate dimension is actually an artificial construct with highly contrived functionality - you just don't end up there, 'there' has extremely precise specifications, and was very carefully and deliberately constructed to behave in a certain manner with regards to gravity. It would probably work in such a manner that any gravity source presenting a sufficient gravity field/deformation of space time (sufficient that the out of phase person would perceive it to be one G of regular gravity) produces a distortion/feedback in the subspace field emitted by the device so that both gravity and solidity are simulated in the alternate dimension for the locale of that gravity source. Thus, if Teal'c had been EVA near an asteroid, and tried to brain Mitchell with the asteroid, which would have its own gravity field, and thus provoke the simulation of gravity by the device, for the alternate dimension, Mitchell would feel that. But, a fist and a P90 don't have enough gravity to produce the simulation effect in the alternate dimension, and so, through the airhead they go. Actually, I what I want to know is how they breathe in that alternate dimension - shouldn't the atmospheric molecules go right through their lungs and everything when they try to breathe? Or do I now have to figure an opposite, sort of 'low molecular density' passthrough from the real universe to the alternate, too, where things with sufficiently small mass exist in both dimensions simultaneously??? Quick! Dose Mitchell with nitrous oxide so I can see what happens - but, then again, he's giddy already, so how will I be able to tell....
Now I REALLY need aspirin.

A new movie and role for Amanda? Way coooooooool
And it airs 1 day before my B-Day although we don't have Lifetime TV Network here
Thank you for your welcome chocdoc *are you addicted to chocolate?*
Rum and diet coke? You on the NO CARB diet? I think I'll try a Cosmo, with Cointreau, maybe 2.
This may be OT, but does anyone else have a problem with Sam's hair this season? I know her looks aren't as important as her role, but everytime I see her, I get upset. She looks like she just woke up and forgot to brush it. Couldn't tptb let her amazing good looks shine through a tad more? She is woman, and I don't want her "glamorized", just a better haircut.
OK, mini and trivial rant over. (deep sigh) Guess I'm obsessing about hair, since my recent loss. OK Sam, take your best shot!
I'm having problems too, it's not her best look, but I understand that Amanda being a new mom, she chose an haircut that was no fuss, allowing her to give all her time to Olivia. It's a little bit better at the end of the season than the beginning though. Though she should have more hair on a forehead, and less on the side (sorry, I'm having english vocabulary problems and holes, I can't find the right words to explain)

So, I've been a lurker a long time, but I'm making my first post because I really want you guys to know that I love this thread. It's so nice to see positive talk about Sam, and it's so sad that that's a rarity nowadays.
I've grown pretty intolerant of Sam-bashing over the past few seasons, and the double-standard that seems to be applied to her drives me batty.
I must admit, I'm a bit apprehensive about next season's Sam, especially with Vala coming on board, and it's great to know there's a place here where I can always go to read and know it'll be full of people who really love Sam.
