I was about to post another SHIPPY MOMENT OF THE DAY when the board went down yesterday! Argh! But we're back up again and all is well with the world! My friend even gave me some Stargate Season 8 tapes to watch this weekend! WO HOO!

I'm enjoying the "Solitudes" discussion so much that my SHIPPY MOMENT is going to be another one from that episode.

When Sam was splinting Jack's leg, she tried to distract him by talking to him. She asked him if this was his first broken bone and through gritted teeth he repied, "Uhh, no." and when she asked how many he's had, he had to think about it for a minute, then told her he's had 9 "if you count skull fractures."

Sam was surprised and asked "How did you manage that?" Jack told her it was a little "parachuting accident" over the borders of Iran and Iraq. His 'chute didn't open and he hit the ground, "and it hurt...just. like. that."

"How long did it take for you to be rescued?" Sam asked.

"No rescue...it wasn't exactly an official mission...if you know what I mean."

Sam then asked him what got him through it and Jack replied, "Sara." Uncomfortable, Sam looked away and said "Your wife."

"At the time. I needed to see her again."

Besides being a cute hurt/comfort scene between Jack and Sam, to me this is Shippy stuff because a man still holding onto the memory of his ex wouldn't have corrected Sam. Instead, Jack made it clear to Sam that he had moved on. If he hadn't he would still be thinking, and speaking of Sara as simply his wife, not in the past tense.
