My opinion on Vala? She's fun..!

I know some find her annoying (and admittedly there have been a few occaisons where she grated a little), but for the most part she lightens up the place. She brings the sense of irreverance that has been missing with Jack's departure. (I miss Jack) In short... She's fun.

Let's hope once season 10 starts there will be less and less people who find her annoying Actually I saw posts at another board after "Crusade" episode from "converted" Vala-haters who are now completely in love with her character

Well, I've said so myself, that as a guest character Vala has more license to be a pain in the buttocks. However, as a main character she will HAVE to be toned down a bit. She couldn't possibly evolve as a character if she stayed exactly as she was in "Prometheus Unbound". Also, I imagine her time among the Ori slaves have caused her to become more compassionate than she was before. In fact I think that ever since she ran into the humans from Earth (Daniel specifically), her life was irreversibly changed from then onward. She can no longer be a completely selfish character; she has to fight for something greater than herself. I like that change. She can still be antagonistic to those around her, but at least they know that she is reasonably trustworthy.

I think a lot of Vala's behaviour was/is exercising demons. Quetesh wasn't only not nice, but probably very cruel. I suppose living to the excess and trying not to care for others helps forgetting certain memories that might devastate you otherwise.

But the real question is, how much of it was Crichton's subconscious and how much the Scarran taking John's memories and subverting them.
