No, he wouldn't reject any kid he has, not ever. But I think when it comes to planning for one, I've always thought he'd be less nervous with Sam.

I've read a fic or two where he was involved with somebody (not Sam), and the woman got pregnant. He didn't love the woman, but he married her anyway, so the baby would have a "family". Do you (or anyone else here) think he'd do that? Or would he simply always be there for the mother and child?

It would depend on the situation. I think that he'd just always be there. Maybe he'd asked her to marry him, but she said no.

There's one fic in particular I was thinking of where this situation happened, and he married the woman. They had a daughter (I think). Of course, they wound up divorced because neither one of them loved each other.

I don't like the idea that Jack would be so drunk he'd get involved with a woman, only to have her get pregnant, but I think that's what happened in this one.

I can think of Kerry, for one, if things got to that point. She's very honest in that way, especially after seeing how his heart isn't with her.

Speaking of Kerry, there is another fic wherein she got pregnant, and even though neither one of them actually loved the other, they agreed to get married. I forget the majority of the story, but I think they wound up not getting married, because it turned out it was a false alarm.

I think he would be there for the mother and child, but I don't know about marriage... I guess maybe it also depends on weather or not Sam is in a relationship with someone else. If she is not available to him, he may see this other woman and child his last chance for a family. But then again, that doesn't mean marriage. I know he would be there and supportive, but not sure he would marry her.

Now, if he and this woman broke up, and he started dating Sam, and then this woman comes back to him to tell him she is pregnant... I don't think he would dump Sam to back to the other woman. He'd be supportive and yada, yada, but my shippy heart says he would not leave Sam for any reason! Very soap-opera-y!

For a minute there, I wondered if it's an S/J story! But I've gotten a lot more sympathetic over the years to Kerry.
