I'll say a mix of both. Smart and adventurous like Sam and incorrigible and mischievous like Jack. They will certainly have their hands full!

I'm not entirely sure when it's due, but I can't exactly get this done say, in the next day or two after just having learnt that I'm going to do one. Just afraid that by the time I get it posted it's time for the next one already.
I think we've gotten behind. I would like to offer the suggestion that we push the schedule back a week to allow us to catch up. If their are no objections then the revised schedule would be as follows:

Pushing the schedule back's a better idea, I think. I'll try to finish up what I can work-wise and get the review done by 23rd. Still a bit close, but I'll see what I can do. Is there a particular time (time zone and all) I should be posting it?

Good idea to push the schedule back a week, I'm so sorry I've been caught up with RL and got us behind, if anyone has a problem with their new dates let me know

Thanks also to Ikorni for taking over family, really appreciate it, hopefully I am nearly back on track with stuff now to put my commitments into running the rewatch again

So... Do you guys want me to do two different reviews for each episode, or just one as a whole?

I'm guessing it doesn't matter, seeing as both are due on the 10th.

I'll just do one for both. I find the Tok'ra fascinating. Which is why I volunteered to do their introductory episode.

I'm actually getting the weekend off (for the first time all month) and I will be back to a regular 40 hour work week (as opposed to 60) next week. So I promise to catch up with my rewatch comments and ficlets.

                            SG-1 Season 2 Rewatch
                            "Family"

                            Brief outline
SG-1 goes to Chulak to save Rya'c who has been captured by Apophis.*

                            Brief Summary
It is a time of transition and change in intergalactic politics. Apophis has returned to Chulak, his forces diminished.*Teal'c receives news from Bra'tac that Rya'c has been taken by Apophis as a means of punishing his first former First Prime for his betrayal. Consequently, SG-1 visits Chulak with Bra'tac in order to launch a rescue mission but learns, in an increasingly uncomfortable situation, that Teal'c (ex)wife Drey'auc has taken Fro'tak as her husband.*SG-1 infiltrates Apophis' palace, attempting to rescue Rya'c who calls Teal'c a traitor. Rya'c however, resists, causing SG-1 to believe that he has been brainwashed by Apophis as a punishment for Teal'c defection.*It turns out that Rya'c had been implanted with a deadly biological weapon (in his teeth!) that, when combined, would take less than a week to wipe out all life on Earth.

                            Favorite Lines and Favorite Scene
I don't exactly have a favourite scene and/or favourite quotes. The lines just aren't that memorable enough.

                            General Comments
It's a Teal'c-centric episode which is admittedly not my favorite, but I felt that it served its purpose of padding out the character of Teal'c who is subject to the same basic emotions of anger, helplessness and fear, particularly when it comes to his family. And this is also something that both the audience and SG-1 don't see too often.*

I never noticed this before, but it is as though the scene in which Teal'c talks to Drey'auc (his now ex-wife) about his missing son loosely parallels Jack's own family situation. The camera pans to Jack when Teal'c talks to Drey'auc about his son, as though saying that this is a situation that resonates with him because his own marriage had fallen apart not too long ago and*is also a poignant reminder of the son he's lost. I liked in particular the shared empathy even though it's not explicitly mentioned: how it's Jack*who had to break up the fight and tells Teal'c to focus on bringing Rya'c back and him again who later says that deprogramming isn't "exactly the kind of thing you want to put a kid through". It's also a reiteration of how he good is with children, seen first with Cassie and now with Rya'c and in a way, these are moments that could have served as a reminder to Jack that there is life beyond Charlie.*

                            Sam and Jack
Very very subtle interplay between these 2, which I don't quite interpret as shippy. Yet there are small moments that do show just how much they seem to be in sync even in the (not quite) beginning:

                            - O'Neill placing the explosive on the door of Apophis' Palace and Carter detonating it.
                            - The wary glances they exchange when Teal'c and Fro'tak talk about trust, a demonstration of their unspoken conversations that we see so many times throughout the series.*
                            - The suspicion they share about Rya'c all-too-easy capture, Sam nodding in agreement when Jack talks about how Cassandra was an initial trap, later telling him how she's "not liking this one bit".
